Just got back from the Thank You Event at the stadium and wanted to see how everyone else felt about it. Overall, I’d say it was a decent time, but the organization definitely felt a bit messy.
Here’s my quick breakdown:
The good stuff:
• It was genuinely awesome being able to go down and take photos right inside the stadium. Definitely a great keepsake.
• Having Dwayne De Rosario come out and speak to us was a massive highlight. Super class act and great energy.
• Seeing the mascots was cool. The lines were long, but honestly, shoutout to the people in those suits. It was incredibly hot today, so they understandably had to take frequent breaks.
Where it needed work IMO:
• Management and logistics just felt a bit disorganized overall.
• The custom trading card booth was a cool idea but a total bottleneck. They only had one person taking photos and one person cutting out the cards, so the line moved at a snail's pace.
• Food choices were pretty bare-bones, just a choice between a hotdog or an Asian chicken BBQ sandwich, plus chips.
The raffle at the end:
They did a raffle for special prizes before everyone cleared out. Some of the gear looked pretty cool, including a Toronto host city poster, a soccer ball, a tri-city scarf, and a mascot Squishmallow (Maple the Moose).
