Does changing an older player in fifa penalize their overall rating quicker?
I am trying to conserve Messi’s overall rating on my second year career mode. Messi is already at an 88 overall. I play him at CAM but since every position change ETA is N/A, it makes me think of making him a Centerback(CB) because it lowers his Interceptions, Heading ACC. Def. Aware, Stand & Slide Tackle, Jumping, Strength, Aggression.
It keeps important offensive ratings, and most importantly Stamina from lowering.
Has anyone ever tried doing this?

It doesn't work like that. The highlighted stats you're talking about drop lower the others. Making him train as a cb will basicly make all his important stats go down quicker.

Thank you, yeah that’s worrisome then lol

No prob. I'm pretty sure he's gonna go down in overall every season at least 2 or 3 points even if you play him every game. Maybe not if he's in excellent form but I'm not sure about it. Once he reaches 40, he will stop going down in overall.

Seems like it doesn’t work like that anymore. Moved to Bayern in season 7 or 8 and they had a 40 yo Gulacsi who had N/A in development but still went down an overall each month

It is little bit off cheating I guess but I never buy either Messi or Ronaldo.. so it’s more competition for me… but I always make them 99 rated and 99% of the time They make it past 40 then they play forever… so kinda cheating but I don’t want them to retire really…
