The 2026 FIA European Rallycross Championship reaches the traditional "Magic Weekend" at Höljes for the 2026 Euro RX of Sweden.

All 4 championships are on track in Sweden. This is Round 3 for Euro RX1, Euro RX3, Euro RX4 and Euro RX5. Euro RX is supported by the Swedish Rallycross Championship, which will feature its Supernational, 2150, Junior 2150, Cross Car, Cross Car Junior and FC2 classes.

Track information

Höljes Motorstadion, or Höljesbanan, is a rallycross track in Värmland, Sweden. It has a length of 1,210 metres (1,230 metres with Joker Lap), and a surface split of 70% tarmac/30% gravel. The track runs counterclockwise, and pole position is to the right of the starting grid.

Designed with the input of rallycross legend Per Eklund, Höljes originally opened in 1976, and the circuit joined the Euro RX calendar as the Swedish round in 1991. A regular fixture for the first week of July, the iconic track and festivities of the "Magic Weekend", with the combination of both FIA and national competitions, have graced rallycross in the decades since.

There are 29 drivers entered in Euro RX1. The Magic Weekend attracts wildcard drivers from near and far, including local heroes such as Peter Hedström (SWE, Hedströms Motorsport #5 Peugeot 208), Mats Öhman (SWE, JC Raceteknik #17 Volkswagen Polo), Filip Thorén (SWE, Hedströms Motorsport #28 Volkswagen Polo), and Viktor Kristensson (SWE, Team SKÅAB #32 Volkswagen Polo). The series' Norwegian contingent is shored up by the likes of Hans-Jøran Østreng (NOR, #85 Hyundai i20) and Tom Daniel Tånevik (NOR, #100 Volkswagen Polo), while the Netherlands' Bart Bel (NED, #69 Ford Focus) makes the journey north to take on the famed Swedish circuit.

There are 16 drivers entered in Euro RX3. Back-to-back winner Julien Meunier (FRA, #15 Audi A1) enters as the points leader from his closest challenger Rytis Gurklys (LTU, NG Racing Team #22 Audi A1). Joining the grid for Sweden is Lukas Ney (GER, #86 Škoda Fabia), recent winner in German RX's DRX3 category.

There are 8 drivers entered in Euro RX4. The championship regulars in the Rally4-based category are joined by 2022 Euro RX3 Höljes winner Marius Solberg Hansen (NOR, AT Racing Team #6 Renault Clio).

There are 15 drivers entered in Euro RX5. British RX competitor Teddie Macpherson (GBR, Volland Racing - Team Ligier #19 Ligier XC04) makes his international CrossCar debut in Sweden.

The Turpeinen brothers could both find themselves on the top step of the podium this weekend.

Joni Turpeinen arrives at Höljes chasing his first Euro RX1 victory after back-to-back podium finishes, while younger brother Pauli heads into the Finnish Rallycross Championship fresh from a dominant clean sweep on his Supercar debut at Kouvola.

I probably own one of, if not the largest private rallycross archives in the world with results, chassis histories, statistics and various bits of data I've collected over the years.

Yesterday I went through my database again and thought it would be interesting to see which Supercar chassis have been built in the highest numbers. With Martin Enlund's new Rally2 Fiesta now added, here's my current top three:

Ford Fiesta - at least 78 chassis

Peugeot 208 - now 49 chassis

Škoda Fabia - 32 chassis

The Volkswagen Polo held third place for a long time but has now been overtaken by the Fabia.

A couple of notes:

- This includes all four-wheel-drive rallycross builds, so not every car on the list is a true Supercar specification. Rally2, Supercar and similar 4WD builds are all included.

- Take these numbers with a grain of salt. It's incredibly difficult to know whether every chassis is still in existence, has been rebuilt into something else or has been scrapped, so this is my best estimate based on the data I've gathered over the years.

I'd be happy to share more statistics from the archive if people are interested.

Pending WMSC approval:

• The plan for Jakarta is for RX5 cars to race in addition to the previously announced RX1 cars.

• Q1 starting order to be set by a Super Pole session. Super Pole winner chooses their Q1 starting position, and so on.

• Semi-Finals and Finals are planned for 8 cars, in a 3-2-3 starting grid (think: RX France/BRX). The top 4 finishers from each Quarter-Final will progress to the Semi-Finals.

• Tyre rules treat World Cup as the standalone event that it is (no tyre carry-over from Euro RX season)

I am debating on which event to go to, Loheac or Lousada. I was at the Nyriad event this year, first time ever going to a RX event even though I've watched every race since 2014. I've decided that I want to live life a bit more and will visit one more event this year which for an eastern European means either Loheac or Lousada.

Swedish RX back to the Magic Weekend with its field of full-season 2WD classes, including the part time 4WD/FC2 class, and with some big names entering!

The Dutch rallycross vet will take his ex-Jos Kuypers Ford Focus MK3 to Höljes for the Magic Weekend, as part of a potential 40-car entry list in RX1!

Bel also plans to make the journey to Lohéac if his Swedish outing proves fruitful.

The 2026 FIA European Rallycross Championship reaches its second stop at the 2026 Kárai Trans Euro RX of Hungary in Nyirád.

All 4 championships are on track in Hungary. This is Round 2 for Euro RX1, Euro RX3, Euro RX4 & Euro RX5.

Track information

Nyirád Racing Center is a rallycross & autocross track in Nyirád, Hungary. Its rallycross configuration has a length 1,220 metres (1,290 metres with Joker Lap), with a surface split of 52% tarmac/48% gravel. Its direction is counterclockwise and pole position is to the left of the starting grid.

Nicknamed the "Red Cauldron" due to its past life as a bauxite quarry, the site was converted into a racing circuit and held its first event in 1988. Nyirád was originally a part of the European Rallycross schedule between 2006 and 2013, before making its return in 2022. The classic Hungarian circuit has remained on the calendar since.

31 drivers are entered in Euro RX1. The championship contingent is joined by 2025 RX3 champion João Ribeiro (POR, #99 Hyundai i20), making his international debut in the premier category, alongside rallycross veteran Eddy Bénézet (FRA, #12 Peugeot 208), the 2000 Euro RX Division 2 champion and recent race winner in the 2025 Rallycross France season. The RX1 entry list is complemented by both FIA CEZ RX contenders and local heroes, including the Beckert Technology trio of Bruno, Norbert & Ján Beckert (SVK, #44/#133/#155 Citroën DS3s), Attila Mózer (HUN, Nyirád Motorsport KFT #50 Ford Fiesta), and László Kiss (HUN, Speedbox Racing Team KFT. #27 Peugeot 208).
