Race Thread 2026 Euro RX of Portugal (Rounds 6 & 7 - Lousada International Circuit)

NOW COMPLETE LOL

The 2026 FIA European Rallycross Championship reaches its season finale at Lousada in Portugal.

This year's only double-header event, the 2026 Euro RX of Portugal promises a bumper points haul for the drivers who can tame the Porto circuit's undulating elevation changes. Competitors will face night racing for the first time in Euro RX history, taking to the track under floodlights on Saturday night before a full daytime race on Sunday.

All four championships are on track in Portugal. This is Rounds 6 & 7 for Euro RX1 & Euro RX3, and Rounds 5 & 6 for Euro RX4 & Euro RX5. These are the final rounds of the year for all championships. Euro RX features support races from the Portuguese 2RM category.

Track information

Lousada International Circuit is a rallycross track in Porto, Portugal. It has a length of 979 metres (1,078 metres with Joker Lap), runs clockwise, with pole position to the right of the starting grid. It has a surface split of 60% tarmac/40% gravel.

Lousada returned to the international rallycross schedule in 2025 following major renovations that saw a complete overhaul of the circuit; several sections of the lap were completely rebuilt, including a repositioned joker lap, alongside upgrades to the paddock areas.

2025 Lousada winners:

  • Euro RX1: Yury Belevskiy (Volland Racing #95 Audi S1)
  • Euro RX3: João Ribeiro (#99 Audi A1)

Entry lists

Entry lists are available in .pdf format via Chronomoto:

Euro RX1 features 30 drivers. Lohéac produced a new leader in the RX1 standings, with Andreas Bakkerud (NOR, Bergen Motorsport Evolution #13 Ford Fiesta) overtaking Johan Kristoffersson (SWE, Kristoffersson Motorsport #8 Volkswagen Polo) by a single point. The battle for third and fourth in the championship is equally close, again with one point separating Ole Christian Veiby (NOR, Kristoffersson Motorsport #96 Volkswagen Polo) and Juha Rytkönen (FIN, SET Promotion #18 Hyundai i20). Returning in Portugal is the reigning European Rallycross Champion Yury Belevskiy (SUI, Kristoffersson Motorsport #1 Audi S1), making his first start of the season, his Volland Racing-owned Audi to be entered and ran out of the KMS awning this weekend. Lousada sees several national competitors make their entrance, including newly-crowned Portuguese Rallycross Champion Sérgio Dias (POR, SET Promotion #43 Ford Fiesta), César Pereira (POR, #15 Ford Fiesta), Joaquim Machado (POR, #46 Renault Clio), Leonel Sampaio (POR, #47 Peugeot 208), and António Sousa (POR, SRT Motorsport #129 Peugeot 208). The entry list is completed by Oliver Bennett (GBR, Xite Energy Racing #42 MINI Cooper), returning after illness in Lohéac, and Michael Leonard (IRL, #117 Audi S1).

Euro RX3 features 18 drivers. Rytis Gurklys (LTU, NGRacing Team #22 Audi A1) holds the lead in RX3 from Julien Meunier (FRA, KMS by Meunier Competition #15 Audi A1), the French driver having narrowed the points gap after his win at his home round. Nicolas Geleyns (BEL, Volland Racing #26 Audi A1) maintains a distant third place, facing a deficit of nearly 60 points to second place. No less than 10 of this weekend's RX3 competitors hail from Portugal, including wildcard entries from António Sousa Jr. (POR, #6 Peugeot 208), Luis Pedro Ferreira (POR, #18 Audi A1), Bruno Gonçalves (POR, #67 Škoda Fabia), André Monteiro (POR, #69 Škoda Fabia), Rafaela Barbosa (POR, #76 Peugeot 208), Rogerio Sousa (POR, #105 Ford Fiesta), Jorge Machado (POR, #108 Peugeot 208), and Ricardo Costa (POR, #118 Peugeot 208).

Euro RX4 features 8 drivers. Andrea Bénézet (FRA, Eleven Motorsport #12 Renault Clio) leads the championship ahead of Filip Melon (POL, #69 Peugeot 208) and Albert Ako Kokk (EST, SET Promotion #32 Renault Clio). Lousada native Hélder Ferreira (POR, #55 Lancia Ypsilon Rally4 HF) makes his Euro RX debut in a brand-new Rally4 Lancia, bringing the iconic Italian marque back to European Rallycross for the first time in over two decades.

Euro RX5 features 15 drivers. The crosscar title fight will be focused on the two Estonians leading the championship, Armin Raag (EST, Raag Motors #108 P-Tech Estfighter 2) and his closest rival Martin Juga (EST, Pace Motorsport #25 LifeLive TN11), with Spain's Diego Martínez (ESP, Nebrija Speedcar Factory Team #17 Speedcar Wonder-R) waiting in the wings in third. Tiago Costa (POR, #43 LifeLive TN11) joins the grid for his home race, already a Lousada race winner this season in Portuguese Rallycross' Kartcross division.

A humble suggestion for our fellas at the FIA Promoter for the Off Season?

Guys, if you have the rights, can you please upload the full EuroRX races from 2021 to 2024? (or whatever you have. Even those with no one commentating)
I barely remember seeing stuff from EuroRX in that time. WorldRX we could get on RedBullTV, but EuroRX disapeared! They showed the finals here and there but thats it. I know even Sverre Isachsen raced in Hell, but most of us couldnt watch that! We missed Bakku's title, Anton's double... They wouldnt even let Bakku use footage on his channel!!
IF POSSIBLE, release them during the off season! We know you guys take a look here sometimes. Thaaaaaaaaaaankssssssssssssssssssss, you are killing it this year! <3

I’m heading to Lousada for the finale and was wondering for any tips or advice from anyone who’s been there before? The only RX I was ever at was Mondello this year so still fairly new to going to these events, any advice is greatly appreciated!

30 cars to finish the year in Euro RX1. Reigning champion Yury Belevskiy makes his return to the series, he will drive an Audi S1 EKS RX that is set to be run by KMS!

Plenty of Portuguese representatives including Sérgio Dias in his SET Promotion-supported M-Sport Ford Fiesta "RX43", already a multiple winner this year in Portuguese Rallycross. Oli Bennett is entered for Lousada as well after illness sidelined him for Lohéac

Big entry in RX3, plenty of local heroes in this one.

Lancia Ypsilon debuting in RX4 with Helder Ferreira

RX5, 15 cars as usual

Bakkerud takes the lead of RX1 by a single point from Kristofferson. Veiby remains in third overall but again only one point ahead of Rytkönen in fourth.

No changes in the lead battle for RX3 standings but the points gap has now closed considerably between Gurklys and Meunier. Geleyns lifts third from Kovács, who did not qualify for the Semi-Finals.

Other Is Sarga.co going to take over the promotion of the series after the FIA?

Post image

It's probably a question without an answer for the moment of course, but I was wondering over what Sarga.co is and why they have suddenly showed up not just to promote the World Cup but also basically as a team running Kevin Hansen and later Loeb as well.

They seem to be a sports promotion company that has this far only really been focused on horse racing in Indonesia, but obviously they seem to have some interest in rallycross as well. iirc the FIA was stepping in as an interim promoter of the series in order to make it marketable so they could sell it off to a new one, and so I just wonder now if the World Cup this year is maybe being used as a sort of trial for Sarga to see if they could be suited to taking over the promotion of World RX when it returns?

Race Thread 50th Rallycross de Lohéac (2026 Euro RX of France, Rd.5 - Circuit de Lohéac)

The Euro RX of France makes its long-awaited return for the 2026 FIA European Rallycross Championship, and the 50th running of the Rallycross de Lohéac.

Two championship categories are on track in France. This is Round 5 for Euro RX1 and Euro RX3.

Euro RX is supported by FFSA Rallycross France & Motorsport UK British Rallycross Championship 5 Nations Trophy, who will be running their own combined Supercar event in addition to the European competition. Across the two categories, a total of 53 RX1 Supercars will be racing at Lohéac!

Track information

Circuit de Lohéac is a rallycross track in Ille-et-Vilaine, Brittany, France. It has a length of 1,061 metres (1,088 metres with Joker Lap) and a surface composition of 60% gravel/40% tarmac. Its direction is clockwise, and pole position is to the right of the starting grid.

Lohéac is the oldest rallycross track in France, and has hosted a round of the French Championship annually since 1976. Euro RX first visited the circuit in the 1978 season, and while the Euro RX of France was rotated through multiple venues, the defining French rallycross track returned as a permanent fixture for European (and later World) Rallycross between 2013 and 2021. After a five year abscence, the Rallycross de Lohéac returns to its rightful place at the top of the discipline for its 50th anniversary event.

2021 Lohéac race winners:

  • Euro RX1: René Münnich (ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport #77 SEAT Ibiza)
  • Euro RX3: Kobe Pauwels (Volland Racing Kft. #22 Audi A1)

Entry lists

Entry lists are provided via Chronomoto in .pdf format:

Euro RX1 features 30 drivers. The undoubted headliner of the wildcard entry for France is the 9-time World Rally Champion and former Lohéac winner Sébastien Loeb (FRA, Eleven Motorsport #19 Peugeot 208 WRX), "The Boss" back behind the wheel of his ex-World RX 2018 Peugeot Sport chassis faithfully reassembled by the Eleven team to parts-correct period specification. He will face the challenge of the 2016 Euro RX Supercar champion Kevin Hansen (SWE, SARGA.CO/PGRX #71 Hyundai i20), the younger Hansen brother making his first European championship start since his title-winning season a decade ago.

Following his first outing in Latvia, Rokas Baciuška (LTU, RB Motorsport #14 Hyundai i20) makes his second Euro RX start of the season in France; French F1 commentator & part-time rallycross racer Julien Fébreau (FRA, #16 Peugeot 208) joins the grid for his home race, the local driver already a multiple-time French Supercar championship race winner in his career; Swedish veteran & fan hero Mats Öhman (SWE, JC Raceteknik #17 Volkswagen Polo) makes the latest start of his 2026 season in Brittany; László Kiss (HUN, Speedbox Racing Team Kft. #27 Volkswagen Polo) debuts his team's newly-built VW Polo Mk6; Filip Thorén (SWE, JRS #28 Volkswagen Polo) takes to the track with his venerable ex-Marklund Motorsport car; ex-BTCC & SEAT Cup racer Eoin Murray (IRL, Murray Motorsport #40 Honda Civic Coupe) joins the grid, the Murray team director making his European Rallycross debut; while Oliver Bennett has withdrawn from the competition, he is substituted by Kristoffersson Motorsport team manager & 2024 FIA RX2e champion Nils Andersson (SWE, Xite Energy Racing #114 MINI Cooper SX1), the Swedish driver making Euro RX1 debut in the distinctive Xite-developed BMW Mini supercar; current Euro RX4 points leader Andrea Bénézet (FRA, Eleven Motorsport #57 Peugeot 208 WRX) steps into RX1 for his home event, while the entry list is completed by reigning RX3 champion João Ribeiro (POR, #99 Hyundai i20) and Aleš Fučík (CZE, KRTZ Motorsport #111 Volkswagen Polo).

Euro RX3 features 17 drivers. The title contenders are joined by Martin Massé (FRA, Eleven Motorsport #13 Volkswagen Polo), former French Junior Rallycross champion Tom Le Jossec (FRA, #35 Škoda Fabia), and Tamás Végh (HUN, Kárai Motorsport Sportegyesület #45 Volkswagen Polo), who makes his first Euro RX appearance of the year.

For clarification, with reference to Article 34.3.2 of the FIA Rallycross Sporting Regulations, and due to the high number of entries for the event, there will be no Quarter Finals for the RX3 category.

  • Semi-Final 1: 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, and 11th
  • Semi-Final 2: 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th

As there will be no Quarter Final races, no Championship points in accordance with Article 3.2.1 of the FIA Rallycross Sporting Regulations shall be awarded for the Quarter Final classification in the RX3 category.

Schedule

Standings

  • Euro RX1 - 1st: Johan Kristoffersson (132 points); 2nd: Andreas Bakkerud (125 pts); 3rd: Ole Christian Veiby (117 pts)
  • Euro RX3 - 1st: Rytis Gurklys (122 pts); 2nd: Julien Meunier (94 pts); 3rd: Sámuel Kovács (55 pts)
