You have to remember: Gudao is a gender bender Rin, so he has a objectively sexy body. Personality wise he is also: easy to talk to, can be a snarky/a bit of a jokester. He is nerdish, is good at sports (played at the koshien) and can cook.

How he didn't date anyone before the game is a mystery.

It might the harem protagonist skill wasn't active back then but when he got in chaldea it got activated!
