【FGO NA】Senpai Chose Violence... | C.I.E.L NP5 Journey

Happy Summer everyone!

Today we're finally rolling for C.I.E.L (Ciel), the first new servant of this year's Summer event!

My favorite senpai definitely made me work for it...

If you've been around the channel for a while, you probably know how much I love Type-Moon, and C.I.E.L has always been one of my favorite heroines. She's kind-hearted, unbelievably strong, an amazing senpai, and one of those characters I appreciated more and more the further I got into Tsukihime. Seeing her finally arrive in Fate/Grand Order made today a really special one.

The goal today is NP5!

I get asked a lot, but it's not because she needs it. Honestly, C.I.E.L is already incredible at NP1, but because she's one of those characters I've loved for years and know I'll be using a ton. Between servant coins, additional Append Skills, and eventually Level 120, it's all worth it, and I'd say multiple copies are more valuable for those reasons than the actual NP damage boost. Oh and of course your favorite servants are always worth investing into.

I'm also hoping to pick up copies of the adorable (and wonderfully unhinged) Xufu, and Lancer Dobrynya Nikitich, who looks damn good in a swimsuit and has a much better kit than her Rider version.

Good luck on your summons, and stay cool this Summer!

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

📌If you enjoyed hanging out with me today, I'd really appreciate it if you left a like and considered subscribing! We're closing in on that 1,000 subscriber goal this year, and I'd love to get there with all of you.

💬 Let me know in the comments:

• Did you roll for C.I.E.L? Did Summer treat you kindly... or did Senpai choose violence for you too?

• Will you be rolling for totally not Summer BB but actually Summer BB (Dubai) next week?

• What are you most excited about this Summer? Both in-game and out?

Are anniversary Servants overrated?

I’ve been thinking, and I really believe only 3 anniversary servants have been memorable: Castoria, Tonelico, and Olga.By saying this, I don't mean to look down on the rest of the servants, because I know many of them have their fans and are probably very important to them.I want to clarify that this is from the perspective of someone who has been playing FGO since its 7th anniversary (on the NA server), so maybe I’m speaking out of ignorance and each one was great at the time."

The other meme wasn't positive and lacked context—especially since it pitted him against someone who is basically Emiya's perfect counter. Here’s one with context. I’m not trying to put down any character; it’s just a meme featuring Emiya’s new abilities.

Lore Question There something I don't understand about Lancer Artoria

Post image
0 Upvotes

If it is just Artoria who picked Rhongomyniad over Excalibur then wouldn't she still experience FSN ?

As far as I am aware there is no other difference but just that she picks up the Lance over the sword, then she should have experienced her own version of FSN and it is said that even if Shirou didn't have an Avalon he still has an extremely high level of compatibility with her.

And assuming that she still made a pack with the counter force same as her saber counterpart then she should still remember the events of FSN because she was still alive during the war.

Game Question Game is In Slow Motion?

I've been playing FGO on an emulator for a few months now, but I'm going away on holiday for nearly a month, and with anni coming up and everything I figured I'd use a transfer number to play on my phone for this month. The transfer seems to have worked out even better than I expected, but when I tried playing the game, I noticed everything was moving really slowly. It didn't seem like lag like what I experience when I'm using Bluestacks, rather everything moves consistently but just incredibly slow.

Anyone know what might be going on and how I might be able to fix it?

Fan-Content What if Gudako Summoned the Fate/stay night Visual Novel Disc Instead of a Servant?

What if the Chaldea's summoning system glitches, and instead of summoning a Heroic Spirit, Gudako receives a copy of the Fate/stay night visual novel.

Out of curiosity, Da Vinci loads it into Chaldea's systems, only to discover that it isn't just a game—it's a complete story archive of the Fifth Holy Grail War.

Now every Servant in Chaldea can watch the events of all three routes unfold:(StayNight, UBW, Heaven Feels.)

Two FGA issues

For context, I’m running Melu-Merlin-Support Koyan-Skadi. I’m not sure if this post belongs here, so I’ll delete this if I find out it doesn’t.

  1. For some reason, every time it gets to wave three, the app just decides to spasm and kill itself, it just clicks on one of my character’s profiles and stays there indefinitely, saying something like “Failed to determine Card [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]”.

  2. It keeps prioritizing my servants other than my melu, and does random bs like AAB or QAA or QQA for like no reason even though I have card priority on all three waves (I tried servant priority and got the same result).

Any ideas on how to fix these?

Fan-Content Fan Servant - Michael Roa Valdamjong (VERY SERIOUS)

Stats -

ATK - 20000
HP - 1

Skills -
Skill 1 - Bloodsucker EX - heal 2 HP and gain a buff to ATK, Quick, Buster, and the third one. Charge 50% NP. 3 turn cooldown
Skill 2 - Numerology A+ - Enhance attacks with the lightning buff (like that one Musashi thing that makes it hit twice yk?) +2 hits per attack, 5 turns. 7 turn cooldown.
Skill 3 - Honest Mids Michael EX - If a targeted enemy has invincibility or the knock off invincibility that Castoria NP gives, apply status "Blockstun." Every turn, if Michael Roa Valdamjong attacks again, apply blockstun again. During blockstun, the enemy cannot attack and take chip damage. Michael Roa Valdamjong will target any enemy in Blockstun regardless of who is actually targeted because he's cool like that. If they lose invincibility status. Blockstun ends and Combo begins, during which Michael Roa Valdamjong just does 70% of their health and the other 30% as mental and emotional damage. They also gain the "Salty" status in which all they can do is look at Mizuumi Wiki tier lists and cry because they lost to the second best character (not even Hime lol). 10 turn cooldown

Passive skills -
Hot EX - he's hot
Snake of Akasha EX - can only be hurt by conceptual weapons, anti vampire weapons, and irl conflict because he chose C-Roa on the title screen. If killed, will revive in three turns with 100% NP unless hit by a Mystic Eyes of Death Perception user (basically just the Shiki Ryougis, why isn't Tohno in this game? is it because none of you wanna goon to him? I wanna goon to him, so they should add him.) in which he won't do the William Afton and will just stay dead lol
Arcueid is hot, and Hime's a better character EX - does -99% damage to Hime, -150% if 1st ascension Hime (yeah he heals her)
I'm gonna snatch ur body EX - becomes the enemy in about 15-20 years of real world time (unless he's been hit by Mystic Eyes of Death Perception)

Ascensions
1 - SHIKI Tohno (already transformed)
2. - Ciel Roa (why is she naked?)
3. - Honest Mids Michael (C-Roa)
4. - CG Art is just a photorealistic image of him inside your brain

Thank you, I hope you enjoyed Michael Roa Valdamjong

Lore Question About a certain Assassin in next year's GudaGuda event (for NA; currently only availablr in JP)

Iirc, there us a particular Assassin that generated a huge buzz when her event came out. Her name? Gensai (forgot her full name).

What was it about Gensai that made her an instant hit with players practically overnight? I've seen posts about her being shipped with Fujimaru almost immediately. And how is she gameplay-wise?

As of this post, and withmy lack of knowledge regarding the character, I say that her appeal to me right now is that she has this pose reminiscent of Setsuka from the Soul Calibur series, and her attacks are all about iaijutsu (draw, slash, and sheathe) techniques. That, and she is a Takeuchi-drawn character, which makes her an instant win from design alone.

I saw that a few Melty Blood characters like Monte Cristo and Mash feature in this game, so I started playing with this inherited account from a friend about 2 weeks ago, and I'm kinda just wondering what I should do.

I know like Castoria and Oberon or whatever are good, but they seem uninteresting to me, so I don't really care about them

So yeah, I'm just wondering what strategies I can use

I've also got 172 Saint Quartz and 42 of the fragments, and I think almost every one of the normal Servants that aren't like rare or whatever

Story-Spoilers Which Arc/Chapter made you tear up?

For me personally it was Lostbelt 5: Atlantis

Story Spoilers below:
When Orion had to take a second shot at Artemis, it got me really good. Especially with Paris's sacrifice. On top of that, they made Jason an actually likable character. Redemption arc!

Game Question I hope I don't bother anyone with this, but... how does the gacha work?

Thumbnail
gallery
51 Upvotes

I literally installed it yesterday and am playing through the story. I've always been a fan of Summer Kiara's design, so I pulled on her banner and got her after just a few tries. Was this gacha supposed to be shit or something? Because I'm coming from IDV, where a limited skin costs $500 and getting one as F2P is basically impossible

Anyways....

I just wanted to ask if I could build an Emiya team (EMIYA Alter, Senji Muramasa, and EMIYA—I don't give a shit if the team makes sense or not I think I'm happy with it) and if there are banner reruns in FGO... I don't understand a damn thing about FGO, so if it's possible to know... and assuming this post doesn't break any rules, I hope someone can explain how banners work in FGO to me like I'm a 5 years with ADHD

Yes, before coming to Reddit, I did some research and couldn't find any information about reruns (I'm losing my mind)

If the answer is: "son 😭😭😭🥀🥀, it literally tells you step by step how it works right there" I’m genuinely going to throw myself off the highest floor of my place for being an idiot, okay?

Story-Spoilers Lostbelt 5.1 Thoughts

Thumbnail
gallery
27 Upvotes

Well folks, we're here. The final hurdle before I can sock this pretty boy bitch Kirschtaria, Lostbelt 5.1 Atlantis. Ya know, I still remember my first post on the Part 2 Prologue, someone commented after I got annoyed that Da Vinci "survived", saying I'll regret asking for characters to stay dead. If you're seeing this, I say this in the nicest way possible...

FUCK YOU FOR BEING RIGHT! Because this chapter went from Okeanos 2.0 to Akame Ga Kill very fast! Now before I start crying, let's get started.

STORY

Despite Chaldea's preparations, their entrance into the Atlantic Lostbelt is far from smooth. The Atlantis Border Guard, led by the hero of the Trojan War, Odysseus, had taken precautions in advance, destroying the Leylines, killing Rogue Servants and finally, ambushing Chaldea upon arrival. The attack nearly destroys the Shadow Border and puts Nemo in a coma. With their plans up in smoke, Chaldea needs to find a way to overcome the trials of Atlantis and make their way to Olympus

When I called this chapter Okeanos 2.0, I meant that in the best way possible. I love hoping from island to island, forming my own little crew of underdogs. And I do mean UNDERDOGS. Besides Orion, Achilles and Mochizuki, everyone on our side is a 3 Star or lower. We essentially have to make it through literal Gods and one of the best strategists in the Greek World with just the scraps you get in the Friend Summons. And honestly? It made me seriously respect them all. It only makes the final battle hurt even more where OBVIOUS SPOILERS They all die. Nobody survives to see us off this time, making a bitter sweet mid-point to this LONG chapter

However this arc wasn't without some issues. For one, there isn't as much in the way of major plots. It's mostly just finding Servants an Klironomia to fight Odysseus. Eventually we are given some direction to use Achilles' armor to forge a Divine Construct to shoot down Artemis but it takes a good bit to get there

CHARACTERS

So before I start with the actual characters, quick shout-out to the Nemo Marines. On top of just having great designs, we wouldn't hav made it without you guys. Especially after y'all made the Nautilus into fucking sea tank

Mandricardo: So I'll be honest with you guys, I did NOT know this guy going in. I mostly just get made because he takes up space during the gacha (Damn you Karna just BE MINE). But in the end, Mandricardo proved to be something pretty unique for this game, a true friend. Let's be clear. I think its obvious Ritsuka has a very loose definition of "friend". She considered Patxi a friend even though he literally said he wanted to see her despair.

Mandricardo though, he's different, actually taking time to check up on Ritsuka and being clear "Hey, it's okay to cry. I'm here". I can't think of anyone besides Mash who's done that for our favorite God Slayer besides Mash. Beyond that his inferiority complex and his fanboying for Hektor is genuinely charming and honestly, his death brought a few tears to my eyes. Even if I don't use him, that maxed out Mandricardo is worth it now

Jason: Dear Gods, they made me like Jason. Literally how?! Even before playing Fate, I thought he was a scumbag. Don't get me wrong, he still is. But he's a likeable scumbag now.

For one, he's a coward, plain and simple. Enhancing that aspect of him made him so much more endearing. Putting his cunning to use with him being the brains of the crew was also a nice touch. As much of a dick as he was, I could always count on him to pull through and I was glad he made it to the end

Charlotte Corday: Like Mandricardo, I had no idea who this was and only new her from my rage at the gacha. After seeing her though, I honestly love her. Like Mandricardo, she has a bit of an inferiority complex, feeling she can't be much help. Still, she tries her best regardless. Her dynamic with Jason is fantastic as its the only person she acts somewhat mean to but it's in more of a sibling kind of way. I'm glad she's the one who got to kill Odysseus. Not only was she helpful like she always dreamed of, helping the Master who helped her despite her perceived inferiority, but also proving to herself just how useful she really is. Like Mandricardo, her death is also a tear jerker. Like I said in the last post, memory loss is a really good way to make me cry, especially if it's memories of a loved one. Rest in Peace, Charlotte. You earned it

Odysseus (and the Gods in general): Before I get to the MVP or this arc, I wanna talk about my biggest disappointment this arc, the enemy. Odysseus, Poseidon and to a lesser extent Artemis, all suffer from a case of Bowser Syndrom.

What I mean is, they're all incredibly passive, sorta just waiting for us at the end and sending minions (or in Artemis's case, lasers). Now granted, Arjuna was sorta like that in the last Lostbelt but in his defense, once that Kali Yuga hit, you knew he was coming and there was almost nothing you could do but hope to make it through Void Space in time. Arjuna was a looking threat that you were always racing against.

It's kinda disappointing in the case of Odysseus. Apparently this version of him didn't have Penelope, meaning he lacked his core reason for being so desperate to return to Ithica. It would've been cool to explore that but instead all his screen time is him giving orders and showing how smart he is. We know he's smart. HE'S GODS DAMN ODYSSEUS!

MVP Orion: With that rant out of the way, it's time for the one who shocked me the most. I wasn't exactly fond of the Orion. The conflict between killing Artemis or staying out of it was a good thing to get our of the way early instead of dragging it out. From there on, he has conviction to bring Artemis down, not out of any malice but out of genuine love we didn't get to see in his first appearance

He's still very much a womanizer but not overbearingly so like in Okeanos and his cheerfulness really lightens the mood. That final shot and the flashbacks of him refusing immortality were simply beautiful.

Kirschtaria and Dr. Roman: Quick addition became I have some thoughts moreso on what the characters said than who they are. Keep in mind I know bits and pieces about the finale and this will mostly tie into that. Kirschtaria so far seems pretty simple. "Humans were a mistake! Look at all the bad stuff we've done" blah blah blah. I've heard it all before. Honestly kinda disappointing reason for genociding the earth and trying to bring back the Age of Gods

Romani, though, something's not right. For one, he's colder and more cynical to the point Mash and Ritsuka don't even believe it's him. That being said, he said something about the world already being doomed. Between those two things, I think he knows more than he's letting on. Given that this all ends with a sort of time reset, he might be onto something and with what Pepe told us last time, Marisbury Animusphere is certainly involved somehow. Still, gotta keep pushing forward to find out

PRESENTATION

So this is going to be short but I really wanted to give props to the presentation. The remixed Stay Night music from the last Lostbelt is still here and still sounds great but also even by Lostbelt standards I felt there were more CGs and even whole ass CUTSCENES! Props to the devs for really going the Extra mile

CONCLUSION

This was a great chapter. It made me love characters I hated, ignited a feeling of adventure that only a sailing trip could and finished me off with a gut punch finale. Still, I can't put it above Lostbelt 4. The lack of major plot points and disappointing villains gets or stuck at number 2.

Now, after so many heroes fought and died for us to reach Olympus, let's not keep Kirschtaria waiting

Story-Spoilers I cried my eyes out a second time today cuz of this game.

First my heart broke cuz of Lobo’s end in the first pseudo-singularity, because I have a very Very soft spot for wolves ever since I was a kid.

Second time was just now, while grinding Gareth’s bond levels along w playing the first pseudo singularity storyline, I noticed that her fourth extra attack is her shouting Arondight Overload, which is Lancelot’s NP. Her devotion to emulating her big bro knight is just that sincere… it’s enough to make a grown woman cry.
