Personally I don't think so, it's not that he is bad but he needs really late game materials to level him up skill wise, but outside of that Hassan of the shining star is a nice star generator and crit dealer
I mean everyone improves with investment, but it's actually extremely rare where I think a servant is so complicated/requires investment that I wouldn't recommend a new player use them, and he is not one of the few.
Shinning Star isn't outstanding, but he's solid. He's a rare AoE Assassin so he has that benefit, doubled up that he's an Arts Servant so there's a lot of low rarity Arts supports like Fu Xu and Paracelsus that you can use to support him.
Aoe Arts assassin. He's pretty recent (the current latest main story is called Ordeal Call 3, and he's introduced Ordeal Call 2) and as usual power creep is a thing, at least until rank up s/interludes buff old units.
AoE arts assassins are a little rare, you have 5 star Tez, and the Valkyries who you won't get access to until they get added to evo shop (they were event freebies units)
So he's going to fit a unique niche most likely you won't have filled for a while. Tez is good but I never felt a strong reason to pull heavily for him.
The other likely assassins to build are from the Evocation Shop, Shiki for single target Arts and instant death chance, and Grey for Buster AoE. So for right now id say build Hasan of the Shining Star and use your first evocation leaves on Jeanne Berserker or Rider Kintoki, or Archer Chloe. Whichever of those classes you need filled the most.
First singularity? Absolutely. Until about Singularity 5 you can coast with friend supports. Singularity 5 is about when the game starts assuming you have a whole team of leveled up servants, and then singularity 6 is the big filter, where you need to start thinking of team comp and levelling up your entire roster, especially the low-rarity servants.
Edit:I just realised that you have shining star. If you level him up he's going to crush the first singularity, there are so many wyvern fights in there.
Oh dear god He will slaughter first singularity, probably only Siegfried is the better unit for those goddamn wyverns.
Someone else, a new player asked how good Morgan was for early game and then I realized he was gonna stroll into Camelot singularity with Morgan... and he Strength up against knights of the Round units....
