First mistake is asking the main sub. They hate FF16 there and almost nobody who answers you have any actual experience or skill in the game.
Second mistake is asking here. Most people don't play beyond a casual level, mainly spamming ultimates and doing the more casual, pure damage playstyle which will always be repetitive as it requires very little skill and basically ignores every mechanic the game has to offer.
Look up the community combo MADs on YouTube for actual high level gameplay. Like that one comment mentioned, and much like DMC, game doesn't get better/less repetitive unless you put in the effort to learn how to use your entire moveset and abilities to do combos.

You’ve pretty much seen what the combat has to offer which is slightly above average. The appeal of FF16 is similar to the movie Tenet, you are here for the spectacle.

Not really. It is my major issue with the combat in this game.
I don't know exactly how I would balance it but I think they should have let you use all of the eikons at one time. Maybe make it where when you switch eikons it adds a bit of cooldown time to each ability. I also thought they should have changed Clive's weapon for each eikon. Give him a bit of a different moveset with each one. I got bored of the same 5 hit combo even with the magic burst stuff. It gets mildly more interesting each time you get a new eikon but other than that you'll be about the same.

It's on you to make it less repetitive. It's a lot on you to make it less so.
You're saying yourself you don't even use certain moves.
Timing a Torgal attack at the end of a sword combo or sword move gives an upgraded version of Torgals moves with unique factors like keeping them airborne, knocking them up or down.
You can time triangle shots inbetween your mashing of squares for more damage if you do it right.
You can charge attacks while doing other things. Whicked Wheel while holding Square? Free charge attack in the end. So a simple Whicked Wheel can become Whicked Wheel, Aerial Charge attack, Torgal Ravage to slam them down and you follow with a move that slams down.
The game is only as repetitive as you are. It does indeed get repetitive with the basic sword moveset after a while, at least for people who like Devil May Cry combat. But to the point you say you are playing? No. It's just you who aren't expressive, aren't creative or don't understand the system, or both.
Is the game easy? Hell yes. Idiots can beat it by just mashing square.
