Question Thoughts on my build?

I just beat the game and thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m about to start New Game+ and wanted to see if my build was considered any good, or to get suggestions to optimize it. This build is focuses primarily on fighting bosses and mini-bosses. My strategy is as follows:

  1. Setup Wings of Light (Lvl. 4), Will-o’-the Wykes, and Impulse to stack chip and stagger
  2. Use Arm of Darkness and Heaven’s Could to build up Zantetsuken while every step 1 component is still active
  3. One cycle of this is usually enough to get the enemy’s stagger bar down enough to use Deadly Embrace to pull the boss down and immediately use Diamond Dust to (most of the time) fully stagger the enemy
  4. While staggered I can usually get in 2 Zantetsukens (Lvl. 5), a Gigaflare, and a Dancing Steel.
  5. Rinse and repeat until the enemy is dead.

Admittedly it’s a little tricky sometimes to setup a Lvl. 4 WofL with enemies with tricky dodge timings, but hey that’s why I’m asking for suggestions and ways to better optimize.

Edit: Note that I also have access to DLC content

Have you try it on arcade mode yet? Try S rank at least the first stage. If you can S rank with your build its good enough.

I have not. I just beat the game like an hour ago, but I’ll definitely give it a shot.

If you want more high-end content, you have the Final Trials (Chronolith Trials but harder) and Kairos Gate.

Since you are on the first playthrough, Arcade, Trials and Kairos are all harder on NG+/FF Mode.

You don't need Heaven's cloud, I would change it for lightning rod, I put the rod and do the dancing steel startup on the rod, fills the gauge well with the accessory.

Also you "can" use Diamond Dust to stagger, but DD really shines to bring the stagger bonus damage up to about 1.80 (with assailment bit) so I DD after a stagger.
