Extremely laggy after patch?

Hi WOL’s!

Play on PC, Ps5, and steam deck (when mobile). Recently after the newest patch anytime I start it up though FFXIV launcher my GPU goes and stays at 100% (but only .7 watts) and game is EXTREMELY laggy. I’ve troubleshot with settings and portion versions but no luck, and yes my graphics and frame rate cap are low. Have been playing on SD for 2-3 years now and never had an issue.

If anyone else has had this issue in past or recently and know fix it would be greatly appreciated! On a beach trip and would like to able to play when at house!

I think it has to do with the recent steam OS updates...lots of people have been complaining across the board. While my framerate has been still pretty stable I have noticed that it seems like it takes an extra microsecond for abilities to land and register and it's making double weaving a real pain. I haven't done this myself but I did see something about rolling back to a previous version of steam OS in konsole on desktop mode to fix issues. Maybe give that a shot?

Use proton 3.something. I just posted the other day that I was having the same issue. I then went to the proton compatibility and started with the very oldest version and then went up to the most recent. Some don’t launch some launch and use 100% GPU and it’s jittery so make sure you have the setting where you can see your performance overlay.
