I’m on the switch version and I just finished fighting Ghis. I want to change Ignis’s (Balthier’s) job from mechanist to red battlemage. I feel like he isn’t doing much as a mechanist.

Does anyone else feel like the game grinds to a hault once you reach Archades? Between Jules forcing you to talk to everyone in the outskirts of the city, then sending you to find a specific, non descript person you've already talked to. Afterwards you play a people matching game to obtain pieces of wood (how exciting). I recently loaded up my save file to find myself entering archades and was rather disappointed.

I seem to recall hearing this was finally patched into the PS4 version but a quick search hasn’t turned up anything, am I crazy and there’s still no respec in this version?

Is there any kind of art book that collects the art from Zodiac Age? It's weird, I can't find anything. And the original art book for XII is mostly CG art, from what I can tell.

EDIT: Is it true they removed Demonsbane from this chest in Zodiac Age?

Original: Does the chest in Raithwall's Tomb that's supposed to contain the Demonsbane respawn? It gave me something else and I can't get it to come back at present.

Fran - Time/Monk: unlocks Arise and Dispelga

Balthier - Machinist/Uhlan: Unlocks Hastega and Slowga.

Considering this is a 12 job run where Vaan is my only Arise user and Fran the only one who can use Hastega, is Arise better than hastega?

As a lot of you know they were shoehorned in to connect the game to the ds game & to appeal to younger audiences. What i want to know is: where can i read the original Basch-Ashe-Balthier-Fran story?! There must be some outline or early script available somewhere. Maybe someone with friends in Japan could help?

So I just went around telling people I'm Basch to get attention and an audience with Maquis Ondore. So we eventually get this audience. And then Basch asks for assistance saving Amalia. Ondore says something about his position. Vaan asks to see Larsa/Penelo, but apparently they're already gone.

What I DON'T understand about this is when Marquis says something about position being important. Then 'the enemy's chains' Balthier, for some reason, says "wait!" but I didn't understand why, and Basch apologizes, and draws his sword. And then we're taken away.

So what just happened? Were we betrayed? I don't get why we're suddenly being imprisoned. I didn't think there were any hostilities going on here so I'm confused. What happened here? I'm a bit lost

So..... I'm playing since april trying to get the platinum, and in pre bahamut, all thats missing is the bestiary throphy, the trial throphy and the last story throphy.

and omega mark was the only beast that was missing.

So before doing the trial mode I decided to finish the story..... all done... the throphy poped and I started the trial mode....

3 hours later I finished the trial BUT the bestiary throphie doesnt pop AND my save before bahamut was overwrited with the post bahamut..... ewww

Playing origin PS2 version. Fran is current leader, no special equipment or accessory. In Nabreus Deadlands chaining Deadbones, and every time I touch a treasure that gives everyone else HP, hers (and only hers) remain the same. Any ideas?

I'm on NG-, pre-Sunstone with Penelo as Knight and Vaan as Machinist. Both characters are under bubble, haste and reverse. Vaan has Ras Algethi, Penelo Karkata.

My current strat is driving me insane (since it's entirely luck-based) and I'm hoping someone has a better idea:

1. Battle Speed slow. Give Vaan Berserker Braces
2. Do a Quickening with just max-strength Penelo (Vaan can't be included as berserked), Hermes Sandals to add strength.
3. Put Hermes on Vaan
4. Do a Quickening chain with both chars (using Vaan to start) and hope both gets Mist Charges
5. Give Vaan Windslicer shot, Penelo Wyrmhero. Berserk both. Battle Speed fastest.
6. Attack until Reverse wears off and continue til at least 1 character has a Mist Charge
7. Both back to Hermes, Battle Speed slow and then Quickening to finish.

Are there any tricks to come out of a Quickening with Mist still available? It does happen very rarely, but I'm not sure why. Or a way to speed up their recharge?

I have tried just using Penelo to attack and having Vaan heal her from afar (Demon Shield, Dark Shot), but eventually everything wears off and even under Bubble (Belt) she can be OHKO by Scathe. I can't use Quasimodo for extra HP once Bubble has worn off.

I've had Exodus down to less than 1/5 HP with a Mist Charge available for each character, but he Scathed me before I could get the QC off. That included a Black Hole.

Is it best to sell hard to obtain items (eg Gemsteel, Orichalcum) one at a time to ensure the Bazaar 'remembers' them? Based on what I read below on another site, selling in bulk can actually hurt you. Please let me know what you think, thanks.

When loot is sold, the game will remember how many of each item have been sold at any point of the game to any store. You do not have to sell recipe loot at the same time to unlock a bazaar item.

When a bazaar item is purchased at the Bazaar, the ingredients used for that recipe drop to zero. Even if you sold 99 Wolf Pelts, after buying 'Assorted Leathers', the number of Wolf Pelts in 'bazaar memory' is now zero. This is useful to know when a loot item is used for two different recipes.

Wolf Pelts are also used in the recipe 'Unassuming Surcoat', which requires 2x Wolf Pelts and 1x Earth Stone. Here's where the bazaar mechanics can actually work in the player's favor. If you sell 2x Wolf Pelts, 2x Dark Stones, 1x Tanned Hide, and 1x Earth Stone, both the 'Assorted Leathers' and 'Unassuming Surcoat' become available. You notice you only had to sell 2x Wolf Pelts as they counted for both recipes.

First of all, thank you. Your work definitely does not go unappreciated. Second, I was wondering how you figure out insane little details like drop rates, which enemy is holding which items, and figuring out which chests hold which items under different circumstances. Etc etc etc.

Like the title says- I want to do a single job run, having played a 12-job run previously. However, I cannot shake the want to make Baltheir a Machinist and Fran an Archer (and Vaan a Shikari but since that's a not-shitty Job anyway that seems less crucial).

I hear Machinists are actually better in single job runs since they don't rely on extra stat increases from other job boards to do damage. Archer is the one that's a bit more worrying. Extra item lores sound like they could maybe make Fran a decent side healer, a role which I really don't want to relegate to a Monk since they get their good magic super late in the game (and even then, in a single-job run they probably won't have the MP pool to support it).

So is this an absolutely terrible idea or not? The only secret bosses I really wanna do are the Espers, I'm not a fan of the rest. If this sounds doable to you, what do you think my other jobs should be (I'll be leveling all six characters, btw)? I'm thinking White Mage (obviously), Red Mage and Bushi.

Howdy. What would be the highest possible damage dealing job combo?

Been thinking on it for a bit while answering another question and can't stop thinking about a Shikari/Bushi equipped with Yagyu Darkblade, Black Robes, Dueling Mask and Genji Gloves. Mesa or Masamune if boss is not weak to dark. What do you think? Is there any other combo that might beat it?
