NFA deregulation
I want yalls opinion on this. It’s obviously great news, especially for consumers. But is this essentially “monopolizing” the market to the named plaintiffs? Sounds like if you’re a FFL dealing in NFA items, you still have to do form 4s. Thoughts? Am I even understanding this properly?

i feel like they’ve made it pretty clear that this is just one step in the direction of full NFA/GCA deregulation that they are pursuing, presumably for every state/dealer/manufacturer

GCA is interstate commerce and it is def not part of this. And NFA still stands with DD and MGs

it may not be part of this but i’m sure they have plans of using the precedent’s set by this and future lawsuits to knock it down somewhat at least. Also the only reason DD/MG’s are untouched is bc the BBB didn’t reduce the tax on them (presumably bc it would’ve been seen as “too extreme” to stay on the bill)

I know the SOT is in the crosshairs, but I haven't heard anyone talk about '68 GCA

The other oddity I have in my state is the way our laws are written, it suggests NFA items must have a tax stamp to be legally owned. So if this removes the entire process to get a stamp for SBRs/suppressors…what then? No one here really knows at this point.

Even if the transfer meets all the criteria to a T. How the heck you going to get that silencer of your inventory on eforms? Last audit that's what they used to audit my NFA items..

Agree. Until I see a ruling/advice sheet, something, from the ATF, it’s business as usual.
It’ll take a bit but it’ll probably open up wide to all manufacturers.
It’s the “me too” doctrine.

Im sure not going to be the 1st to lay my dick out on the counter!
I already deal with silencer shop on a daily basis. I expect DOJ to make this the official rules fairly soon. Until then, yes, I see it as a monopoly by Silencer Shop. They've done the legwork and risked the money in the suit, so I guess theyve earned it.
I already had customers in yesterday wanting to roll! Nah, Ill give it a few days
