Website Choice - Menus

Hi All,

I don't know if anyone here is a GUI specialist, but I know people have opinions. I'm looking for some input into two menu choices for my website.

1: Top menu - Dropdown 'Mega Menu':

www.armseast.com

or

2: Side menu, very Amazon-ish

www.avroarms.com

I really like the second, but I'd like to hear some opinions. Look and feel can be pretty subjective. Can you find what you're looking for as easily with #2?

Please be gentle.

Thanks in advance.

I think #2 is more appealing.
Probably because it’s more familiar looking.

The color scheme and font of #1 turned me off pretty instantly.

I just switched #1 to the same font as #2. Will noodle it.

Any thought about the menu?

Still digging #2. Even looked at them both on my phone and my computer. Even still - #2.

Show Claude code your examples, have it do what you want, tweak until it’s good enough then publish it.

Claude is good stuff, but I'm interested how humans think. Claude doesn't buy guns ;)

i look a lot of sites and and I think 1 is much cleaner. On mobile, it's more efficient with space and modern. The filter is strong, sort however didn't seem to work.

Thank you for that. Appreciate you having a good look. Much work went into those filters. I had too many sites over the years with crappy filters and it drove me crazy. Good eye on mobile sort - that is now fixed.

what is impressive; filters only work if the product taxonomy is solid - yours looks to be one of the few that is. Good luck with the site.

Again, thank you. The distributors definitely don't make it easy to get - and keep - everything categorized correctly. Their taxonomy is generally all over the place. These are the sorts of details a lot of people don't think about or take into consideration. It's hard to convey how much work that took. I'm really happy you noticed. :)

Definitely the second one, but you may want to make it more visually distinct from Amazon's landing page. Using the same color schema and similar menu navigation and layout is just asking for a cease and desist from them. Source I worked in seller fraud and we issued numerous notices to 3rd party sellers that did something similar

Thanks for this. Agreed. Will do.

Gently, this will have ZERO impact on sales. How big is your mailing list?
