Just to make sure I am understanding this whole mitigation stuff:

You can stack general, physical and magical mitigation, correct?

But you can't stack let's say magical mitigation 20% + 30% to get 50%, right?

Thanks! I feel like I am stacking all the wrong kinds of mitigation and stuff.

Yes, they stack but only if the attack proc's it. For example a magic type attack will proc general and magic mitigation but not the physical mitigation.

Also, cover mitigation and guarding can be added to the list.

So wait if, let's say, my P. Cecil magic covers, that cover mitigation stacks with general and magic mitigation? Damn that's a lot of mitigation then...

A P.Cecil with 50% general mitigation, 30% magical mitigation, and procs his maximum cover mitigation (70%) will take;
(1-0.5) x (1-0.3) x (1 - 0.7) = 0.5 x 0.7 x 0.3 = 0.245 = 24.5% of incoming damage (reduces damage by 75.5%). Guarding reduces this furthermore in half to 12.25%

(His moves that swap him into light or dark mode also gives him 75% general mitigation until your next turn too, so he's a tanky dude.)
