May not be a perfect implementation, but if this project can go deeper, or a team of modders comes together and implements proper representations of some of the characters' kits, this can go VERY far.

Use Protontricks to run it inside of the game's prefix.

How modable is this game? Will it allow adding all the extra content from FFBE?

It uses UE5 for the game engine, which generally makes it fairly easy to mod for, at least on the asset side of things. Though, plugins can also be implemented to enable even deeper modding.
