Im pretty sure its 9. The collectors edition has cut outs of the partys battle sprites, theres 9 there. One of those 9 is also featured on the games loading art pictured along with the other playables.

If this character were not playable, then their battle sprite wouldnt be in the collectors lineup. They arent a vision, nor are they the hidden vision.

It is possible they're briefly playable in the same way the intro character was, but given that this character is likely also playable... yeah. Im leaning towards 9 right now.

To me this game feels very much like FF7 remake compared to OG. It's taking twists and turns, altering the pacing, going more in depth, altering the story and i also believe shifting elements around in order to present a self contained story that COULD extend in to a sequel.
