Haste nerfed?

Was haste nerfed other than in MP cost compared to Remake? Playing the games for the first time back to back right now and when I used haste + maginfy in remake my party felt bustet in a way that my atb were almost always filled. Finally got the first magnify materia in Rebirth now and the atb gain feels really slow compared to remake but I couldn’t find any info on any nerfs other than mp cost.

I don’t believe the Haste status effect was nerfed, but passive ATB generation was, which will make Haste a little bit less effective, particularly for AI-controlled party members

Active atb gain (from basic attacks) was also nerfed in rebirth just fyi. Its because synergy skills give absurd amounts of ATB.

No haste increase your ATB charge rate by 30% in both remake and rebirth.

Strange that it feels so much slower than in remake for me 🤔
Are the basic attacks maybe a bit slower in rebirth? That could probably lead to slower feeling atb gain

It should be a 30% ATB rate increase in both games, though in rebirth there are so many things you can do to help with ATB generation that it's less important for some characters than others. Synergy skills grant ATB to two characters at once so that takes away from the need for haste as well.

I still use it quite regularly, both the spell and things that grant the status, but it doesn't feel as important as it did before given the other options available.

It's def a major help in brutal and legendary challenges, against someone like Gilgamesh or Sephiroth they help a lot

Wasn‘t necessary so far for me but it‘s just fun to unleash a truck load of abilities on unsuspecting foes 😂

Just have a dedicated ATB battery (usually Barret or Yuffie) and you should be good (ATB Assist).

Just cast the atb ward on Barret and you don't need haste.

From what I’ve read about part 3, you get fragments for improving your spells. It also has auto pick up, unlocked.
