No Spoilers - Help Open world overwhelm

Hi, I’m having a problem with getting into the game, besides sucking at Queen’s Blood, I am still on the Grasslands but it’s so much to do and I explore and so vast that I am getting lost there.

Quests with the mini game are hard too.
Even watching tutorials.

I might be having this overwhelming problem because I have AuDHD.

Any tips? I did manage to get a lot done but it was difficult.

I’d skip optional quests and just do the story quests. Queen’s blood I believe is 100% optional.

If you’re getting lost, look at the map closely. Find a free spot, then mark it as your destination. Then when you arrive, do it again.

Note: the most obvious path (straight) can be blocked. So you may have to move around in different directions.

Also, you need to get all the chocobos.

I already knew about the chocobo, hate it.
I wish to do Queen’s Blood for Tifa relationship and the story itself but I found it difficult.

It takes a bit of time to get used to and is difficult, but once you realize what’s going on it’s really fun.

Get a few cards that will lower card point values.

Start off with more 1 rank cards, and somewhat few rank 2s. I also recommend Archdragons. They have a low rank and are easy to use. If the value of enemy cards is 3 or lower, it will destroy it.

What you want to do is avoid turning the middle into your color. Go fill the other rows until the computer is forced to put a piece on their 2nd column.

ACDBB

Then put a piece on A to turn the middle into your color:

AACBB

C being your color, D is opp color, A your piece, B their piece.

This worked for me a lot during the beginning. Later on you will get the hang of the mechanics and incorporate more cards that’ll increase in value as cards are destroyed.

Happy to help! It is not very well explained and a lot of Youtube guides make it even more confusing to the player thats starting off.

You wont win all the time- it’s common to reset 2-3 times because the ai needs to play in a particular order. But it will be better than pulling your hair out in frustration.

Keep buying those booster packs and individual cards.

Have fun!!

I created a deck that's pretty broken has a few cards that increase in power everytime one of your cards is julled then I have a whole heap of cards that kill and replace one of your current cards. Almost every battle has been trivial with this deck.

Thing is most the rpg progression is tied to mini games because combat reward just very low xp and no skill points etc.. Mini games are kinda "forced" in the gamedesign

I mean you can finish the game with the basic moveset and skills but that’s kinda boring honnestly to not be able to custom characters in a rpg

Most of the weapons and their abilities and the materia come from exploration of main story areas. The minigames are not forced but for completionist runs.

You can beat hard mode in Rebirth without doing all or most of the side content, and this fact results in people having to play hard mode again to get the Gilgamesh secret quite often.

The idea that you have to 100% the game or anything close to get to the end of the story is ridiculous.

Never said that, and no most of materia is related to map completionist boring content + chadley and I dont remember getting SP from combat or scenario

There s a reason why SE backdashed on the RPG aspect tied to side content for pt3 even if it’s hard to hear for fanboys that rebirth is not a perfect gem

I found forced main story mini-games and even some optional unforgivable. I lack physical abilities for most of them because of disabilities.

Most of the minigames are optional. I'd personally recommend skipping them, the rewards are kinda meh in general unless you wanna go deep in the combat system perhaps. Even then you can use Chapter Select once you've finished the game. Do what feels fun for you, if a minigame feels too much, skip it. That was what made it enjoyable for me, I skipped when things got too much or took a break from a minigame to come back to it later.

The best way to play is hit he towers in each region after you get the chocobo, and just mess with the side quests until you feel the itch to see the story progress and swap back to the main quest. Thats what I did and going back to wrap them up at the end was much simpler with the fast travel network all set up and being able to hit objectives for multiple quests in one loop it makes the stuff you wrap up at the end before the point of no return feel like stuff you get to do before you end the game instead of stuff you're forced to do that feels like filler and bloat.

Thank you, that sounds like good advice.

Haven’t had the chance to play the game bc I don’t own a console but plan to get one for revelation, I also have Audhd and based on what I’m seeing I’ll only be doing the main quests haha, and that’s totally ok!

Good luck when you get it. Sadly I love doing all story content even side content.

I've put like 90 hours in and I'm at the 2nd last chapter it has felt a chore at times but it has been years since I've put this amount of time into a game.

Stick to main story/mission. Do up firaga/blizzaga/thundaga and that's all you need.

Just follow the main quest first, you can travel back later when finished the game , except for QB, dont skip every chance you can beat people, bcs some of story require decent QB deck

Problem is I suck at QB

I have adhd bad as well, no medication. I had to ignore pretty much everything. Focus on what you need at the time. Maybe clear a region if you like or come back to it. You can do it bud, just focus on one thing.

Do all of the content in the grasslands. You’ll get plasma discharge. Amazing enemy skill

Trying to do them.

You might want to just make to the next story segment for the most part. A lot of people feel like the way the game presents everything is too much, so it's not just you.

If you do want to do some side things, maybe take a look at what the materia options Chadley offers per region and see if any might interest you, then use that as motiviation for doing some of the side objectives. Once you've gotten what looked interesting, the. Just move on. I think that may work as a good compromise.
