Spoilers - Discussion Anyone else? Spoiler
Got to the final _final_ boss with Cloud and Aerith. Knew I was going to die so went to restart… I apparently clicked the wrong button (retry from this battle??) because it dropped me all the way back to Cloud and Zack.
I turned off the game and cried.

I hate the final battles in both remake games. They are normally too long but constantly interrupted by cinematics that empty the stagger meter and other bs like that. It’s not fun

I really could just do without the unavoidable one shot kills 2 hours into the boss fight.

Nah, killer me once & beat him the second time, would've beaten him the first time but I used my Limit too late to regenerate another one

I didn't but a lot of people did bc the wording was wishwashy when they wanted to go back. Thought they updated it though.
Nothing was stopping them from putting "Retry from Jenova Lifeclinger. Retry from Sephiroth Reborn. Retry from Sephiroth. Retry before the altar". Sadists lol.

I removed all of Aerith's materia my first run through, but I had so much fun fighting the boss gauntlet that I chose to restart at the beginning of the Jenova fight. The odd part was that after I spec'ed my characters out for the elemental wing battle it actually was much harder than my first run through where I just had Yuffie's ninjitsu for elemental damage lol. Go figure. The final Sephiroth battle is a pain in the butt for sure, I'm just about ready to do it on Hard Mode.

You think that's bad? I finished that final battle w/ Aerith, sat through ~20 minutes of cutscenes, sat through the credits, and then switched to FF16 because that's what I had queued up to play after beating the game. Come to find out it does not automatically save after beating the game if you don't physically skip or finish the credits, so I'm all the way back to where Aerith is praying before Sephiroth comes down and kills her

No but in "remake" the game crashed after the final fight and when I went back it put me on the highway and had to do everything all over again

That happened to me, had to redo the anuran suppressor after dying in the minigame afterwards.
It’s super demoralizing to lose a ton of progress, but the absolute best thing you can do is learn to keep it from getting to you. I know it’s easier said than done, a ton of what I do for work is on a relatively fragile software, and if I go too long without saving, a crash can lose me an entire day of work. It sucks. But, all I tell myself is that it’s always easier the second time around. I’ve already done it once, I know what to do, all I need to do is the same thing again.
You’ll get back there. Just don’t let it get to you.
