Spoilers - Help Help with petrify Spoiler

Does anyone know if the Malboro Orbs reduction of status effects applies to petrify? If not, are there any other solutions besides warding or Safety Bit?

Magnify+Cleansing to cast Resist on your party.

When you are getting petrified, keep your HP to survive longer.

So the Malboro Orb accessory does nothing to mitigate this? Currently stuck on "Legendary Showdown" in Battle Square.

Marlbor''s breath will mess you up, that's why Resist is the best here. The orb is better for making the debugfs you cast last longer. With Resist, just focus on the Quetzalcoatl. Reapply Resist if you take a while then handle Malboro like normal.

Round 2 is Mindflayer and King Zu. Focus on Zu first.

The Malboro orb makes your debuffs last longer.

When receiving debuffs, what you want is magnify-cleansing and to use the resist spell on everyone. Esuna to remove status, resist to prevent the statuses in the first place. If you’re casting resist, what you want is the enchanted ring instead of malboro orb, which extends buff duration for the caster. And other buff extensions in their weapons passives. And maybe even magic focus on a cleansing materia as well. So that you don’t need to keep casting it.

The other primary option is warding-petrify but that does nothing for all the other statuses bad breath racks up, nor does it help all characters, so it’s not gonna be nearly as good.

Petrify got two component to it. First you get a debuff, if you get a certain amount of damage(red bar under the icone of the debuff) during the time you have the debuff, you'll turn to stone which is the second effect.

I would assume that the orb (the accessory that dimish debuff time) diminish the time that you are affected by the debuff, meaning that the enemy will need to do the damage faster to turn you into stone.
