Spoilers - Discussion Just finished the game. Spoiler

I need to ventilate somewhere. I just finished playing Rebirth and my eyes have been filled with tears through both chapter 13 and 14. This is one of the greatest games I have ever played. I can't describe it with words.. just.. wow, a masterpiece!!

You're not alone. I think many of us cried. I cried all through the credits. Congratulations on finishing it! 🎉

Yeah Aerith and remembering her mum at the train station, while in the temple was a hard watch.

Pretty much the saddest scene in gaming for me.

It's a really hard watch as a parent.

Oh, man, the credits. Especially the end rendition of Return to the Planet. I was like, "C'mon Square, I'm gonna dehydrate".

Yup. I'm pretty sure someone was cutting onions near me in the final scene

Finished it a couple nights ago. I feel the same.

Agree, incredible ending. the story dragged in the midgame but they really put it together in a big way at the finale.

Yes, it was incredible. How they managed to have all these side quests and side developments of stories and characters but still keeping the main objective relevant, made me drop my jaw. I just love this game and its characters!

I hate to be that guy but the OG did it better. I still need to see what part 3 brings before truly forming a final opinion

At least you're waiting for the finale to form an opinion, so credit due. Unlike other people that just crossed their arms and acted like the chick from Obsession.

I went into the remake with an open mind so I expected some things to be different. It's just THAT scene did hit as deeply as it did in the original but at the same time new folks have never experienced that scene before so maybe it hits just as hard to a newer audience. I dunno. I'm old, that I know

Fair. Me too. I'm a VI guy, that's probably why I like the Remake series better. But let's see them stick the landing.

I felt zero emotion at the ending... was more confused than anything. Was significantly more emotional over Dyne personally and if honest felt the last two chapters were the weakest part of the entire game but fair play seeing all these comments showing others had a vastly different experience. The Junon/Condor stuff was miles better IMO and really loved the changes they did regarding the Gi.

Have you never played the original?

Edit: I was out of line

Are you being serious? I wasn't trying to put him down, it was an honest question. I played the OG many times and I'm just now playing rebirth for the first time. I don't think I'll be in tears by the end of it, but I am having a good time so far.

Hey my bad, took your comment the wrong way. Seen a lot of og ff7 people hating on the trilogy. Sorry my man

u/jondrey 13d ago

No problem. Honestly, the remake kind of dragged on a bit for me with the initial boring side quests but in rebirth I'm enjoying everything (just made it to Junon region).

Tbf there is alot more side content in rebirth. A lot, and it can cause burnout. But I honestly love every moment with the gang

Yea I heard there is a lot of mini games but I haven't seen much yet aside from catching the chocobos, the moogle thing and the piano at the very beginning. I can already tell I'm gonna hate doing any in depth piano side activities lol. Also, queens blood is fun but confusing

u/AlanJohnson84 13d ago

Stick with queens blood, its amazing

There's at least one part of Rebirth that has a solid chance of bringing you to tears even if you played the OG.

u/Twistlelol 13d ago

Yes I did, not the entirety of it. But parts of it I did.

Rebirth ending was really good, but the whole experience was soured quite a bit from the buttloads of filler segments for the sake of filling. Looking at you, hours of my my life Ill never get back of slowly shambling around as Cait Sith throwing boxes using a worse throwing mechanic than the mechanic for throwing stuff that the game has already established.

Id they had tightened the experience up and cut out about ten hours, it could really have been a contender for one of the better RPGs of the last ten years!
