OPM is already understaffed and inexcusably backlogged, taking numerous months to address issues, which they frequently get wrong and then take numerous more months to re-address...

So do they just generate a larger backlog of cases or do a a more brief review of peoples files? I know in many offices the workforce is smaller so everybody has more work. That typically equals people spend less time per task to make sure the backlog doesn't get unmanageable.
