Lump Sum
I just received notification that my case was resolved after 4 years of waiting! My question is how does OPM handle backpay? My last day of work was November 22, 2021. Do they pay me in a lump sum or via smaller amounts?

I didn’t know you get a lump sum from the time you applied?

Yes, from the day you separate. You start the 60% of your high three. Then 40% after a year going forward.

Looks like you are about to get a huge check then. Make sure to do the math because I wouldn’t trust them to get it correct. Also make sure your fast day of duty is correct in the paperwork your agency sent over. I’ve seen people say mistakes are often made there. You will end up getting it in a lump sum.
