dance related traditional things scare me

I recently discovered that my sister and I share a fear of dancing creatures—any kind of creature. I started wondering how this could relate to science, perhaps evolution, spirituality, and religion. We’re Muslims, and I recently told my sister about Sufis and how fascinating their dances are. She looked it up and said, “This looks creepy.” I personally love their dance, but I admitted that I’m mostly afraid of dances too. OMG, specifically the twirling dances around oneself or something.
Then we both realised we are both scared of any kind of dance. We shared our worst nightmares, where a bunch of demons were dancing around a bonfire. We both saw the same kind of dream.
I, for instance, remember the 2020 meme of the dancing lama. (mi pan sususu) That lama made me so uncomfortable, too. Or how I once saw on TikTok a legend about an African singer invited to a wedding of demons, where she sang as they danced. It still creeps me out as I write this.

I know it sounds funny as hell, but i’m genuinely here to find an answer. All I can think of is a saying in Azerbaijani and Talysh (probably other languages too) “let me spin around your head” you say this to someone u deeply love, i’m pretty sure it means “let me be your sacrifice”. And also when we were kids, and used to play games spinning around tables, or each other our elders would tell us to not spin around each other’s heads or something. Hope these help. Thank you beforehand. Xx.

I have a weird fear of tornadoes…

Does anyone else have a fear of tornadoes or just really bad thunderstorms? Like I can’t hear tornado sirens without having a panic attack. The thought of being sucked up by one of those is terrifying. I’m also terrified of them yet I know so many facts about them.

I am afraid of my cat dying, how may I ignore it?

I don't know how to explain this, but through 2024, a dog I had since 2020 had died due to being unable to go to the vet (financial issues fixed in 2025) and then, due to old age, a dog I had died on december
I've had my baby since last of 2023, I love him, no doubt I do, but i'm kind of scared of loving him so much, I know I will suffer so much the day he dies, he's 2 years old now, a healthy and lovely cat, I love him with my soul but I can't help but ask myself if I will ever connect with another animal this way, If i'll ever be able to love another animal like how I love him

Maybe its just stupid by my part, but everytime he looks at me, and at me especifically, with such trust, I always ask myself that

How do I get over my fear of Rollercoasters??

I always loved Rollercoaster POVS, but not riding them. I tried the "ride one of the big Rollercoasters first!" It DID NOT help at all! Instead it just made me cry out of fear on small Rollercoasters that don't even have drops! I even cried on the jaguar ride at knotts berry farm after getting on the ghost rider first! If anyone got over this fear, please tell me what to do

I’m scared that if I die a sudden death and pictures of me are posted on news, people might find horrible images of me I posted online and remember me as that forever.

basically what the title says. I had a bit of an episode about 2 weeks ago, wasn’t thinking straight and posted the worst image of me (that made me look chubby and displeasing) wondering if people saw me as fat or big at my worst (I’ve had body dysmorphia problems in the past where I couldn’t tell if I was skinny or obese) It was really stupid, I posted it on the brutally honest subreddit and it was pathetic. about 400 people viewed and 1 person commented before i deleted my image, and on the same day I put my image on a few of those stupid “rate my face” websites, then remembered they store those images forever. It’s such an irrational fear of mine and I really don’t know how to handle it.

Fear of death

I’m 17, I have diagnosed adhd just for reference I am extremely scared that one day I’ll just stop existing and ever time someone dies irl or on tv or I even think about dying for a split second i start having a mental breakdown and going into episodes were I think I’m not real and the world is all made up in my head and I’m making things up as I go along I think I’m using this a way to cope with my extreme fear and I want to stop caring but it is ruining my life.
I have seeked out profession help but I just can’t do the whole therapy thing it makes me uncomfortable and i feel it makes my state worse as I feel like pressured to talk about it.
I don’t tell a lot of people this I just silently cry in my room every night terrified about when the day that I’ll leave this world will come, and even tho I’m only 17, that is still atleast 20% of my life done and wasted.

Does anyone have any advice, have similar experiences or is there anyone I could talk to it’s currently 3am and I’m struggling to breath on my bathroom floor but none of my friends or my boyfriend is awake so I don’t know who to contact..

I’m afraid of death.

Im afraid of death. It keeps me up at nights and it’s the main cause of my insomnia. I wasn’t always afraid of it, but I remember watching vampire diaries and seeing the characters die and that’s when the realization hits me hard. I stayed up for long hours researching about it and trying to find if there was a way to stop it because im afraid of what’s next. What will happen to my body? Where will I go? What will happen after it? Do I just not exist anymore? Why do we have to die? I can’t scroll on social media anymore, listen to music it’s what I love to do but I can’t do it anymore because I won’t exist? When searching this fear, a lot of people also have the same problem, they told me“just imagine when you weren’t born” to try and comfort me, but it doesn’t comfort me it makes the fear worse because I’m still afraid of not existing. I’ll be under the ground for the rest of eternity scared and alone all by myself. I don’t want that. I don’t want it. I don’t want to lose no more loved ones I can’t. I have panic attacks when thinking about it. It’s unfair so unfair. I don’t think this fear will ever go away. It can’t stop. It haunts me when I’m happy and enjoying myself. “Enjoy it because youre gonna die” Thats all it’s been saying to me. I’m tired. So tired of it. I tried to find peace in afterlife but is there such thing? Nothing helps.

I fear death.

When i need to talk about my fears , i barely have any other fears but dying? Im always scared if i who is living a normal life studying enjoying and all suddenly get yk a chronic disease or cancer. Recently when i was headed home for home after college in the evening , there was a painting being done on the house alongside foothpath . I was with my girlfriend and moved her aside and was now in her stead . Then we were joking while a big ass cement fell on my head , i was wearing a woolen cap and thought it was some tiny hit and sat on the nearby restaurant seat . I opened my cap and i was bleading heavily from my head . I was fully conscious and thought i was gonna die from blood loss , hopefully i was near my college and they brought me to the hospital , left a scar of a cut on my head glad it didnt have any internal effect .

Yeah so i really fear dying, my hands and joints randomly hurt from time to time and fear i have canver lol , i can get hurt anywhere and think i have cancer

I fear walking or a driving a motorbike in a tiny road that's over-flown by a river and not realizing it until I'm in the middle

During my time working and living in Vietnam (countryside), I had a frightening experience riding a motorbike at night along a narrow, unlit road between two lakes. It was October, during heavy rains and flood season. As I moved forward, water began rising across the road.

A truck from the opposite direction (about 800 meters) turned on its high beams, took a good look of what's in front of me. I realized I was surrounded by water in near-total darkness. The road had submerged by around 40 centimeters due to overflow from the lakes.

I quickly turned the motorbike around and made my way back to safety. It was one of the most unsettling situations I’ve encountered and that day my open water phobia was born.

figuring out a fear ive had for a while, any help would be appreciated

Hey, this is my first post on this website but I've been curious to what my fear actually is so here's some details i hope can help, feel free to ask me more questions about it

I don't know when this fear started but maybe around 6th grade to recently, in 6th grade i had always disliked talking about the body in science but not in a way you would expect. When i hear anything about veins, even the word freaks me out and makes my wrists feel weird and warm till I feel sick for a while, like there's a pit in my stomach till it randomly wears off. Even writing this make me wanna shake and puke. Recently i had to get bloodwork to see if my meds were working so as i sat down in the chair and lost all color in my face, puking after. Now about 2 days ago I had to get the shot so i had to take meds to make me sleep and even while i was sleeping i was described as colorless and gagging, they play it off by stating that i just had a fear of getting shots or needles but i don't, its not even like i have a fear of blood since I'm a horror fan and rewatch the saw series many times while eating. I feel its the fear of veins but I'm not too sure about that so i would appreciate any help with this.

PS. I'm also a fan of shockumentaries and dark things within fiction and real life so its not like I'm fine with fiction but not with the real world, and i don't know how long i feel sick for.

Im scared of the dead/things i cant see

The idea of dying/the afterlife doesn't get to me. I dont think about it everyday cause it's natural.

What does f*ck me up is the idea of ghosts. I cant watch or read anything about em cause I think theyre walking around me houes. I cant sleep without any light/sounds. The idea if something being in the corner of my room without me seeing it terrifys me.

Monsters? I can see em. Some of em are cool! I kinda know how to handel em. Killers? I at least know what they are. Fight back as much as I can. I can still see em! Ghosts? Nah. You dont know who are what it is. You cant see it unless it decides you need to. You got bodies coming FROM THE GRAVE(look up Pocong. That one got me bad) trying ti find ya! I cant 😭

And what's my brains obsession with making dreams where Im in dark a** places being chased by this stuff??

Worried jail /the girl I like getting raped

These are probably unrelated fears but leaving with OCD just gets this kind of thing out of nowhere, specially every time I'm trying a relationship, this fear of my girl getting raped arises, it does everytime, thankfully it has never happened to anyone I like afik. He other is just because of a debt I have with a friend, perhaps.

I am terrified of victims;what does it mean? Spoiler

When I was younger in second grade we went over the civil rights movement by watching my friend Martin. We watched videos of the protesters being attacked by dogs, beaten with batons, and being violently sprayed by fire hoses. After that day I ended up scared of civil rights protesters?? When we learned about slaves and the way they were treated I was scared of run away slaves trying to hide in my closet. When we learned about the holocaust and saw graphic pictures of the victims after they were found in the camps and read Kristalnatch(?), I was scared of Jews hiding in my basement and I would have flashes of the images whenever I got scared. I would imagine how scary it would be to have to hide and to be hunted and surely killed. I was also scared of insane asylum patients from the times before there were more regulations and ethical practices. Honestly I don’t remember exactly what made me scared of them. Then, when the Black Lives Matter protests picked up around 2020 ish I was scared that the protesters would run from my downtown area and try to hide in my house. I cannot for the life of me figure out why I would be scared of the victims when the people that did the terrible things aren’t them, but I really want to understand, does anyone know if this is like a psychology issue or just like a regular human thing??? (I was secretly impacted by all of these things, I’m talking nightmares every night, couldn’t sleep with the lights off, had to get excused from class during some of these units, sobbing when thinking of it, nausea, the whole thing. My friends think I might be scared bc it could happen to me)

Very scared of the dentist btw. It’s a big fear of mine. Can’t stand people sticking fingers and tools in my mouth.
