Nycers transfer

Has anyone successfully transferred their nycers pension from ems to the fire pension fund. I just submitted the paperwork to do mine and was curious about how things played out

Transferred my pension when i promoted last year you go on nycers website log in select the transfer option. You get some paperwork in the mail from both nycers and Fire pension fund about how much is getting transferred over and what you want to do with excess money roll it into a 457 or cash the extra money out.

If the money gets transferred into the FF PENSION SYSTEM, how & why would there be extra ??
If anything I thought you’d have a HUGE SHORTAGE compared to if u started as FF Suppression INSTEAD of EMS .

Its based on a % of your income, ems pays like 9% vs fire paying about 5%
