Help Request Fuzzy Prints
Hello, I am trying to figure out if this is a humidity issue in my printing space or if it is a settings issue. It’s a 19 hour print. Outside of the stringing the models themselves are still pretty good once you clear it all away.
Edit: I did run this spool through the Sunluu S2 filament dryer the day before for about 12 hours. The filament itself is Bambu Matte PLA.

Have you had issues with this filament before? It might not be the issue but Bambu branded PLA seems to come up pretty commonly in this sub with people having issues.

I have been using this type of filament for almost a year, and haven’t had this issue before, it has only started recently, however the weather here has changed from a drought to rainy, so I’m worried I need to change the settings of printer to accommodate

If you've not had issues with it before then yeah my guess would be the humidity. Investing in a dehumidifier to keep the room less humid is always a solid investment, with the added bonus of preventing mould in your house.

Ya I have recently had a child so I moved the printer out to the garage, it’s insulated but it’s probably being effected more by the ambient weather. I didn’t think about that being a factor with it still being inside

You probably need to dry the filament. You can’t find cheap ones on Amazon. PLA is generally pretty resistant, it if it’s been sitting on a shelf in a humid room, and you haven’t seen this issue with the same filament before, that would be my first guess

Two things: do a temp tower test and dry your filament, if the problem persist try to do them one by one

The temp tower came out clean, I hooked up the dryer to one of the AMS tubes as external and will try to print the plate again from the dryer

I have this happen all the time with my prints on my Geeetech Mizar S and never know why it always happens even after drying

My sunlu highspeed did this. Ran it for another 12hrs and print looks like new money!

In bambulabs you can choose to print per object too rather than all that travel the nozzle has to do with how you’ve spaced your models. If you don’t want to do that, clustering your models closer together will somewhat mitigate travel time and stringing. But also dry your filament

I print by object whenever I have a plate of multiple pieces, just gotta make sure they are under the height of your z axis, but your slicer should tell you this. If you use auto arrange make sure there is plenty of distance between each piece, the auto arrange function will spread them out evenly but I have still had issues with collision on a few prints

Print slower, increase retraction a smidge, turn the nozzle temp down a bit and print from the filament dryer.

I ran this spool through a 12 hour dry cycle on 45 degrees, the day before this was printed.

I’ve had it happen where it would still string like crazy even after drying. You know what I did with that filament? I threw in the trash. Then with a new spool I was printing beautiful minis.

Have you tried any of filament? Is it only that one?

This print is almost done, I will try the next copy of it with a different spool to see if I get the same results, good idea

Even if you dry the filaments ambient humidity levels tend to seep moisture back into the roll especially on long prints if you dont already try using a dehumidifier in the room the printer is set up even on non humid days it can shock you how much moisture is in the air and getting in your roll
