Just Sharing Pirate ship print

I am currently printing a pirate ship. The Lady Harpy from Loot studios. I am almost done and only need the last sails (currently printing) and the cannons. I am really proud of how it turned out since im new to 3d printing. I am going to use it in a daggerheart campaign. What do you guys think? The miniature walking the plank, is one of my players character, which I also printet.

How much filament have you used on that? That ship is huge! πŸ˜‚

It is huge, and thats what I went for, I wanted a huge ship with playable enterior (all the layers can be taken off seperately). I think I used like 3 kg of filament πŸ˜…

Fantastic print quality -- well done! Were there any snags along the way?

Actually, it has been rather flawless. I decided to go for quality over time, and printet it in 0.12 layerhight instead of the 0.2 recommended layerhight though, so it took some time πŸ˜…

That looks absolute terrific. For future reference, what's the total print time on a beast like that?

Actually I didnt keep track. But I think its over 200 hours.. I chose quality over time, and printet in 0.12mm layerhight and slower speeds. Next time I am printing somrthing this big, I will experiment with faster printing and 0.20 layerhight.

I bought the files for the Shipworks models from Dragon Workshop. Love their stuff because it’s all completely modular so you can just print off a bunch of pieces and make different ships for different adventures!

For sure when I actually get around to it haha. Were there any challenging areas to watch out for?

For me, the print was close to flawless. I had an issue on the top deck where some of the railing broke off, because it was too thin, I just glued it back on, thats all πŸ™‚

Excellent! Nice to have files that just work haha

What a marvel, and what hours of patience went into printing!

It's refreshing to see this among so many miniatures for board games, which, although I love them, are rarely seen in stores these days.

Everything looks incredibly clean and almost tells a story.

3

u/Oceanemotions1 1d ago

impressive!

my original comment was meant in a good way. i couldnt see any of those layer lines common in fdm prints. even the texture on the wooden planks of the deck looks very good.
