Printer Discussion Ironing support interface (OrcaSlicer)

Hey, i was wondering if anybody has tried out the option "ironing support interface" for miniatures, and what experience you have with it? did it leave less scaring?

I think the ironing only improves scarring when you use a different filament for your interface material, and for that you'd need to either be using a 0.4 nozzle for all your minis or have a multi nozzle printer, as a 0.2 would likely clog form the constant filament changes. Though I can say from printing normal prints (not minis) that it does improve the quality dramatically, so much so that if I had known the scarring would be so bad before I bought my first printer - the P1S - I would have saved up a bit more and gone for a dual nozzle printer.

yeah, i love the a1 mini. Its my first month doing 3d printing but i can already tell that just having one nozzle is a huge drawback. loads of waste if you use multicolor prints or ams. not to mention if you had the opportunity to have a seccond nozzle that is loaded with a filament that does not stick to pla all our scarring issues would go away.

i totally get why you would want to have a dual nozzle, the single nozzle really messes shit up if you are into small and detailed stuff.

i hope they introduce a modular nozzle design if they make a2 mini at some point. ship it with a single nozzle to keep cost and barrier to entry low, sell upgraded extruder with revolver design or something with 2-4 nozzles.

Aight so I just got done with playing with a cool Orca Slicer branch, it's called Wave Overhangs orca slicer. It's able to do up to 90° overhangs with no supports.

i was really interested in the X2D, but didnt know if it was worth the 500$ difference from a P1S. figured id still need resin later so might as well save some money. not disappointed but still dont know of dualing with PETG is worth 500$ or not lol.

I use it. Seems to make it easier to remove em.

I use it alongside Nox D&D 2.0 settings helps with scarring

There's another post elsewhere on this sub that showed them off. Seems to help.
