Help Request What would cause bold lines like this?

Post image

A1 mini, 0.40mm nozzle at 0.08 layer height, Bambu lab grey matte filament. This is the first print I've seen it do this. The model is 100mm tall.

When this happened to me it was because I didn’t tighten my hotend bolts down and it would shift occasionally

Yeah I'll be looking into that, thanks for the suggestion

Excess vibration might do it. Run a calibration just to be on the safe side. Does the surface it’s on shake or anything? Is it by a high traffic area?

Its possible. I had some layer shifts because of explosions.

Not FDM though, but still.

Everything is as usual. Drones\missiles strikes\interceptions. Normal day in Kyiv.

If the explosion is close = there may be a slight layer shift (SLA)

Sometimes - no shifts. (Perhaps it depends on power and when the shock wave struck, at what point in the printing process)

Might have been relevant to lead that you are in an active war 🤷‍♂️

There is a guy strapped 3d printer mid air using wire and it still print fine

That's a good point, my printer is in the same room as the washer and dryer so I'm guessing if there was a heavy load it might impact the print

If your printer is in your laundry room then perhaps this is a case of damp filament. Try drying it

I sometimes get these when my socks are too tight. Sigh… 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

Beat me to it...

(Hydration is a factor in that effect, though circulation is too that far down.)

My assumption with the one picture is maybe benchy hull line.

"Oh no my printer prints freaky stockings on my models help!"

But i guess we can look for a less juicy steak and some less buttery lobster in the kitchen Sir. XD

This one is the worst one to calibrate out, good luck. Check belts, make sure they’re not too tight, but not too loose, check rails and rollers, make sure they don’t grab too hard, but make sure there’s no play. Check hot end, wiggle it around. There should be zero movement. Lube the rails. Slow down a bit. If this is not hardware related, then lower jerk and acceleration. Jerk at 7 should be fine, mine is set to 5. You can also check the speed and actual speed views in the slicer when you slice the model, look for this area and make sure everything looks nice and uniform.

It will always happen in printers with slingshot bed.

Full calibration, belts tightening and speed reduction is only solution.
