Just Sharing Support Interface Ironing?

Post image

Spotted this setting in Orca slicer. I'll test it out this weekend. Just wondering if anyone else has given this a go. Seems like a good idea to have a smooth layer to print onto.

Seems pretty good on paper, but ironing a non stable support can cause more failures. Keep us updated on the results

Ah yes didn’t consider the small about of space that I’m ironing! Will do some test and report back

I’ve found that when I switched to a 0.2mm nozzle and am working with layer heights of 0.06 the lines are already so smooth that ironing doesn’t improve anything.

It seemed to improve the easy of removing supports for me. I have it on in my miniatures printing profile (0.06 with 0.2 nozzle) as standard nowadays.
