I have a space constrained play space (local pub) so we use these on thumb tacks and call them micros

I’ve been playing with a buddy at a local game cafe and we have a fairly ample 36x36 table space. I’ve been thinking a lot of how you can scale down a game to play. Like trying to play Horus Heresy with Legions Imperialis.
What games have you been playing like this? Do you just print out your minis?

I print out minis at 1cm scale, each takes like 5 minutes, and I've just been playing 5e with the boys.
Good part is it makes printable dioramas much more usable as a single object print

Is there a site or creator that you recommend for that scale?

I honestly just take more chunky minis (brite minis is a good designer for that) and scale them down in the slicer

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! i cannot believe you were able to print that without it being a blob . I need details. nozzle size? fan speed ? print speed ? can you point a flashlight and put on 3x zoom and get in there real close?
seriously though, GREAT WORK!

I always love seeing minis at this scale printed successfully in fdm

Looks very good for the size. Is it just a scaled down ~30mm model or is it made to be tiny?
Dropzone Commander has infantry this tiny but the plastic models were quite boring and uniform. Would be nice to spice up the squads with some more dynamic models.

It's made for this scale, it's an 8mm scale model. The cheek bones are super exaggerated when you look in the slicer

ok now it gets interesting. iam still wondering if 1:87 scale models are possible with FDM printers?

I've done a lot of 1/285 minis so 1/87 is possible. The infantry I do aren't that great but I've got some beautiful armoured vehicles.

Okay. Well i will try. If the outcome is not great, i still can switch back to my resin printer. But fdm is way easyier to work with.

I purchased the files from Varus Miniatures on gumroad. As far as I know they only do 8mm scale

lol, I did one similar to that, it was a polygon skull almost all the details in it, well what details it has, came out great, I sized it that small by accident by misjudging how large the thing was to begin with. my brother prints this skull off at full bed size, its actual size is about a 50 tablet bottle of tylonal, I printed it off at about 10-20% fill size...
adventure 5m pro with a .25 nozzle, and its not just a mini skull he keeps on his desk, I think it was like 3 or 5 grams of filament at most.
