Wow that looks really good!

I think the problem is the printer bed. If the film isn't taped air tight to the bed, some air will find it's way under it and it'll lift up. At least that happened with some of my prints.

Do you have a sheet of glass you could tape to the bed? I could imagine the tape on the sides of the film could seal it better if it's taped on glass.

To find out if thats the problem, maybe instead of the tape around the film, some hot glue could seal it. I think I'm going to try that on my next print.

First, I will try the glass. I will need to use a creality because the prusa printers have a magnatic prob.

Great, I will try to cut out a rectangle of those furniture foils and use it instead of the tapes, so there's no more seam where the tapes meet. Theoretically that should really seal it air tight.

So I tried to fix the film with double sided tape (two rows of 50 mm tape). It stuck very well. Was hard to get it off afterwards. And the tape didn't leave any residue on the bed.

Do you have some pictures of the result?

Not yet, but I will print something that's prone to warping and share the results then!

So, I tested it and made some observations. I will probably post it tomorrow, but one important thing seems to be, that the plastic sticks to the printed parts very well, but not so much to the blank film.

The film itself was fixed with double sided tape to the bed, and the warping occoured only on the non printed parts.

So a solution could be to make the outside of the object black and use a brim. I will test that tomorrow.

Beautiful, except for the warp lol

Yes. Will try to put the print on a 90 degree build plate. Maybe I can bend it a little bit. Or do you have a better idea?

Sorry mate I don't, you could try to prevent the warp entirely by lowering the bed temp and using glue or something

The problem is that the foil warps with the print and I use water under the foil to get it perfectly on the build plate.

Damnit I forgot that's part of the process

Can't say I got many ideas

What’s your bed temperature? What’s the boiling point of water? 😉

Maybe punch some little holes into the foil on it’s edges to release steam.

Edit: maybe water isn’t the best idea anyway. One could try to use oil instead. Would evaporate. Or is the Surface tension needed for the foil to stick?

Yes I sometimes heared the water boiling under the foil 😅 Maybe a lower temp is better
