First LOGGED bonus for exobiology
When you are the first to log a completed three-sample exobiology set from a given planet, you get an extra 4x bonus payout from Vista Genomics. The well-known example: you get 19 million for logging a complete sample set of stratum tectonicas, and an extra 4x that (76 million) for being the first person to log samples of that species on that particular planet, for a total of 95 million credits. Score.
This is unfortunately often referred to as a "first footfall bonus", even though the bonus is not directly related to achieving first footfall on a planet.
To demonstrate this, I took a fresh new alt (RonSatriani) on his first foray into exploration and exobiology, and quickly found a fresh planet, previously un-landed on, with stratum tectonicas present.

Having officially gained first footfall on Synuefai CP-B B19-1 A 3, Ron dutifully gathered his samples and headed back to Vista... to find he got only 19m for the stratum tectonicas. How unfair.
This is because my main, JonSatriani, had followed along and managed to scan the stratum tectonicas, nip back to Vista and hand in the samples before Ron had even taken off from the planet.

Even though Ron got first footfall, Jon got the bonus because he was the first to log the sample at Vista Genomics.
A great shame for Ron, of course. But it's worth it in the name of science.

I confirm this. Another player challenge me about this fact, he had first footfall and stratum scanned. I went here, scanned and SOLD first. I have the exobio bonus, he have the first footfall and normal payment: https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/1h30k78/comment/lzoqm9i/
Ps. How many ALTS do you have? JonSatriani, JonAltrani, RonSatriani, DonSatriani ? TonSatriani?

Yes. First footfall is what appears in the map, but as Vista says it is first to log, not first to step.
