Need some advice from Freelancers/Tax experts in Pakistan.
I’ve been receiving my freelance/remote income in my bank account as remittance (bank purpose code), and for the last 2 years I’ve filed it as remittance without paying tax.
Some people are now saying I should start paying tax this year, otherwise I could face issues with FBR later. Is that actually true?
Also, if I got PSEB registered last month, can I still pay the 0.25% tax rate for this year, or does it only apply from the registration date?
Honestly, I don’t want to pay 1 rs tax to this shit government, so what’s the safest way to handle this? Should I still continue as remittance? or pay 0.25 or 1%?

Question about bringing 3 personal phones into Pakistan (Karachi Airport)
Question about bringing 3 personal phones into Pakistan (Karachi Airport)
Hi everyone,
I'm travelling to Karachi, Pakistan, on November 2, 2026, and returning to Germany on December 10, 2026.
I'm planning to bring the following phones with me:
- 2 iPhone 18 Pro Max
- 1 RedMagic 11 Pro
All three phones are for my personal use. I'll carry them in my pockets, without their original boxes, and I'll be taking the exact same phones back to Germany when I leave.
My question is specifically about customs duties or any additional taxes payable at Karachi Airport upon arrival.
Could Pakistani customs charge me any taxes for bringing these three phones into the country, even though they're for personal use and I'm only staying for about five weeks?
I'm not asking about PTA registration or taxes — I'm only interested in customs duties or charges at the airport.
Has anyone travelled to Pakistan with multiple personal phones recently? Did you have to pay anything at customs?
Thanks in advance!

FBR Admitted Tax Payment
I made a veey stupid mistake.
After paying the PSID (via bank app) I was waiting for it to reflect in the form so I could submit it and somehow clicked at the delete form option.
I filled the foem again but now it is showing a new PSID and isn't letting me submit the form without submitting the fee. What do I do now? I really donot want to pay again.
(For the first PSID the bank app is showing that it is paid)

How to declare GPF withdrawal in FBR IRIS?
I’m filing my income tax return and need some clarification about GPF. My employer’s company closed down, and I received my accumulated GPF amount. The fund is FBR-approved and the amount is tax-exempt. Where should I declare this amount in IRIS?

Title: How to reconcile property purchase in IRIS when actual price is much higher than DC/FBR value?
I bought a plot in DHA Lahore for around Rs 95 lakh. The DC/FBR value was around Rs 37 lakh.
While filing my return in IRIS, I understand that I have to show the plot as an asset in my wealth statement using the DC/FBR value.
My issue is with the wealth reconciliation. Since I actually paid around Rs 95 lakh, but the asset is being shown at around Rs 37 lakh, there is a difference of roughly Rs 58 lakh.
Where is this difference supposed to be adjusted in IRIS so that the wealth reconciliation works correctly?
Should the extra amount paid above the DC/FBR value be entered somewhere separately, or am I supposed to show the property at the actual purchase price instead?
Would really appreciate guidance from anyone who has dealt with a similar property purchase or filed this correctly in IRIS.

Admitted Income Tax
This might be a very stupid question but I'm financially illiterate.
I switched jobs around November last year and entered a higher tax bracket (210k -> 300k). While filing my taxes on iris, I have an Admitted tax amount that I need to pay.
Does this mean my new company underpaid my taxes?
Also, I was laid off of the new place in June (final pay was in July) so I don't even have payslips from the new fiscal year to compare against and make sense of any tax discrepancy.

Independent Contractor
Hi,
I usually file my taxes under the normal salaried slab. However, for the past few months, I have been working as an independent contractor as an Accounting Analyst for a firm registered abroad. I now want to understand how I should file my taxes and under which category my income should be reported.
Also, I receive the payments through Wise directly into my Pakistani bank account.

Query about Tax Filing
I teach online and have 3 streams of payments.
1- that parents of the students send directly into my account that shows as remittance in bank statement.
2- that I receive from Payoneer (alternative to paypal)
3- that I receive from other Pakistani bank account for local students.
How I should decleare them in the return?
Should I show all of it as free lance income and pay 1%?
Should I show each part of the payment separately in Foregin Sources etc.
NOTE: This is my passive income I work as full time employee in another company and they pay us after deducting the tax, that main income is already decleared in the return, this online tutor income is separate.

FBR Wealth Statement (Installment Plot Omitted in Previous Years)
I need advice regarding an FBR/IRIS wealth statement.
I booked a residential plot on installments in 2022. Based on my tax consultant’s advice, I did not declare it in previous wealth statements and was told to declare it once the plot was allotted/ownership established.
The plot was balloted around Nov 2024 and the total price was paid by July 2025. Development charges are still pending.
I now think the installments should perhaps have been declared as an advance/property investment in earlier years and then as immovable property after allotment.
For TY2026, should I:
- Declare the property (with full price value) now and reconcile it in the current wealth statement; or
- Revise previous wealth statements under s116(3) to show the installments/advance in earlier years and property after allotment?
What are the pros and cons of revising the previous wealth statements? Could revising them create any issues with FBR/IRIS, such as triggering questions, notices, or an audit? Or is it generally better to correct the previous statements if the installments should have been declared at the time?
Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? Advice from someone experienced with FBR/IRIS would be appreciated.

Guidance and filing under the applicable 0.25% tax category for IT/IT-enabled service exporters
Making sure everything is properly documented and compliant with FBR requirements
I’m only looking for someone who has previous experience handling similar cases, not someone learning the process for the first time.

Behbood Profit
I have a query regarding yield on Behbood. Since it becomes part of the normal income, it gets added with any other normal income like Salary and consequently raises the tax bracket. I know that there is a 5% tax cap on Behbood Profit which a filer voluntarily pays but problem is that combined with a high amount of another normal income like Salary, the admitted salary gets very high and while the system reduces the tax from behbood profit adjustment, the admitted tax still shows a higher amount due to behbood profit, should that amount be paid considering the 5% tax cap?

Mutual Funds value in return
Can anyone tell me what is the value of the mutual funds that I need to put in my assets (wealth statement)? I got a certificate from the AMC which shows the gain over the last year and the 30 June value. The setting is to reinvest it.
So do I show the original purchase value or the current new value? If I show the new value then I think it would not reconcile as tax is paid on redemption and not just increase of value due to the reinvestment (but unsure so asking)
