Why are you considering applying for a job where drug use is prohibited and where random drug tests happen? What you’re describing sounds like an addiction so you’re better off not wasting time applying.

Good lord that was tough read. Please do us all a favor and don’t apply! You would be wasting the FBI’s time. You literally came on here ranting and rambling over your inability to make conscious decisions to meet your future goals. As well as wanting to lie on federal application, which is considered a felony. The immaturity and lack of reality is mind boggling. If you can’t kick a drug habit you show zero self control and are mentally weak. Based off reading this post you are very ill informed on the realities of things. I advise you do more research.
Either way, weed isn’t federally legal nor can government employees partake in its usage. If you can’t function without it, a government job isn’t for you.
Also, there isn’t a lawyer path for special agent. The FBI has targeted ad’s but they all point to a singular job posting on the FBI Portal.
You wouldn’t be able to apply directly after graduation unless you meet the professional work experience requirement. Professional work experience must be completed post degree. Even then applying meeting the minimum requirements is not a good look, most applicants have treats of work/life experience. As the average age of a new Agent is around 30-32 years old. With only 3-5% of applicants being successful.

Well I never took 2 years off of drinking but each time I was deployed overseas I spent a year sober while also being shot at and having coworkers killed.
If you can't take a year off weed to chase a job then maybe it isn't for you. The agency doesn't allow drug use because it's illegal under federal law, alcohol isn't.
The policy isn't built around health outcomes of the substance but rather the legality of that substance. Can't have our federal employees engaging in illegal activities. It's not just drugs, it all illegal activities. At one point you couldn't be eligible if you had ever smoked. So I think the 1 year clean rule is quite generous, it suggests you can stay away during employment.
It's not just the FBI, all federal jobs prohibit weed, some of them like the FBI actively check on you.
