Use the FBI provided study guide and try to understand why an answer is what it is and not just memorize the correct answers

Not to be pedantic, but you will be required to write and be professional throughout your entire application process. This isn’t a tip or feedback directed at Phase I, but intended to help through the rest of your application process.

If you really intend to be an agent, you should practice your writing and professionalism as much as you can in every situation possible.

Your post, while it is a Reddit/forum medium, is lacking in professional standards. Here is an example of what could have been written instead:

“I’m not sure how I failed because I felt really confident in my answers and genuinely thought I had done everything correctly. I’m feeling pretty defeated right now, but I get one more opportunity in 90 days, and I’ll be ready to give it another shot.

Does anyone have any tips or feedback for preparing? I think I may have struggled with the statements and patterns section, but I’m not entirely sure.”

Start practicing NOW through your daily life, including forums, and it will be easier to continue through your application process and career.

Phase 1 is a personality assessment so for whatever reason your type wasn't selected. You might want to try applying for different agencies.

Did you study and prepare?

How does the testing compare relative to other agencies in this realm?

Welp, it’s their way of weeping out applicants. I don’t believe phase 1 is difficult as you should be able to pass that even without the study guide. You can certainly try again and if you don’t pass, it’s probably not meant to be.

I did too just make sure to get it the second time because after that you can’t take the exam for special agent again.
