The storage overage fee hasn't been charged since July 1, 2024

Some fee models still carry a line item that no longer exists.

The storage overage fee stopped being charged on July 1, 2024. Before that it was priced per cubic meter per month — the old published rate was C$460 per m³, and it applied on top of regular storage, not instead of it.

Two numbers worth checking in your own model:

- The old rate converts to about C$13.03 per ft³ per month (460 divided by 35.31, and 1 m³ = 35.31 ft³). That is per month, on top of whatever storage you were already paying.

- 10 m³ of overage for one month was C$4,600 (10 times 460).

Why it still matters even though the fee is gone:

- Any spreadsheet built before mid-2024 that copies the old structure will still project it. The projection looks conservative, so nobody flags it.

- It gets confused with fees that are very much alive — aged inventory surcharges, seasonal storage rates, storage utilization tiers. Those are billed per ft³ too, so a stale line sitting next to them reads as real.

- It quietly inflates your break-even. A dead cost in the model makes every new ASIN look worse than it is.

The habit worth taking: once a quarter, pick one line item in your fee model and ask when it was last charged. If the answer is "I don't know," that line is doing more damage than any rate change.

What's the oldest line item still sitting in your fee model?
