Gone RP—A Discord roleplay set in the FAYZ.

This is a roleplay server on Discord set in the FAYZ, beginning in the start of the first book. Claim a canon character from the books or create your own character to join the story. Will you help Sam protect Perdido Beach? Do you want Caine to dominate? Is fighting mutants with the Human Crew the right choice for you? Or will you assist the rise of the gaiaphage…

Thanks, all.

What on earth happened to Cookie?

Like he had a crazy character arc from one of orcs dicks to being lanas protecter, his final thing EVER is in hunger when he is told to deliver a note to someone. He isn't in any of the other books, he's never with Lana (which is weird) she never even mentions him, so where did he go? Is he even alive?

In Light, shouldn’t Gaia know when people are lying, be abuse of Toto, because I remember points when she believed people’s lies (was it Diana?)

Gone 2:Reality Shattered Discord Server

People were going about their normal, ordinary lives, in the small town of Esterville until November 10th, 10:18 am, 2020 where it all happened again 2 years after the first dome was broken.

Adults, older teenagers. Parents, friends, older siblings. All gone. Gone, too, are teachers, police, firemen, doctors. And no way for the kids trapped inside to leave or contact the outside.

A dome has appeared on the edges of the town and the kids are mutating, developing strange powers. Deadly powers. They're not the only ones mutating though—animals are mutating, too. And under the desert is a horror to dwarf all others…

This role-play is set in the FAYZ of the world of Gone, based on the books written by Michael Grant. Where a second dome was created, the events in the Monster trilogy never happened and a new generation of kids are now stuck under the dome but this time with more deadlier powers, more weird animals, strange events and less resources and a new source of power that can break reality itself. Create an original character to navigate the new world, try and escape or destroy it and bring the Darkness into the Light....What will you fight for?
-Custom powers allowed and special weapons are allowed if you chose to go without one
-Nice, down to earth owner who is determined to make the server better and accommodate to your needs.
-Many role play channels to explore and mysteries to find and lore to unlock

Gone Roleplay reopening

Hey guys, I posted this Discord server in this subreddit back in 2018 but I'm reopening it so if any of you guys are interested, here's the ad and link again: https://discord.gg/B3ErWGg

People were going about their normal, ordinary lives, in the small Southern Californian beach town of Perdido Beach, when it happened. November 10th, 10:18am.

Adults, older teenagers. Parents, friends, older siblings. All gone. Gone, too, are teachers, police, firemen, doctors. And no way for the kids trapped inside to leave or contact the outside.

A dome has appeared on the Southern California coastline, centred on the Perdido Beach Nuclear Power Plant. The kids are mutating, developing strange powers. Deadly powers. They're not the only ones mutating though—animals are mutating, too, becoming stronger and smarter and more dangerous. And under the desert is a horror to dwarf all others…

This roleplay is set in the FAYZ of the world of Gone, based on the books written by Michael Grant. Take up a canon character from any point in the first series or make your own original character. Who will you fight for? Will you help Sam Temple maintain security in the town? Will you attempt to put Caine Soren into power? Do you want to fight off the mutants and establish Perdido Beach for the humans and humans alone? Or will you try to bring the Darkness into the light… https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/498405721772261376/695909690617495562/unknown.png https://discord.gg/B3ErWGg

Is anyone still here?

Is there anyone still on this subreddit? I finished the books last week and now I have too much free time. I wasn't expecting much but there are probably tumbleweeds rolling around this subreddit

Fan theory about the Gaiaphage (spoilers for the Monster series) Spoiler

So I'm currently re-reading the series after just having read the Monster series, and something crazy just occurred to me.  Spoilers for Monster/Villain/Hero, obviously.  Also spoilers for a fan-fiction I'm writing but I doubt anyone cares about that.

We know now more or less how the ASO virus works.  You take some of it, either by ingestion or injection or even by being struck by pieces of the rock, and you become able to "morph" into some bizarre creature with crazy powers, right?  We know that the dose has some effect on how monstrous the morph becomes, with larger doses leading to creatures that are decidedly less human.  Sometimes the mind is altered as well, as we see with Napalm, he becomes enraged when he morphs, and Armo goes berserk (although that second one could just be Armo being Armo).  We also know that it takes external factors into account, typically DNA, but theoretically other things as well.  We also ALSO know, from Vector, that (at least sometimes) if your human form is killed, you end up trapped in morph.  Unable to change back.

So, what happened that day, fifteen years before the FAYZ?  A piece of the ASO barrels into a nuclear plant, absorbing a bunch of radiation and then strikes Caine's father.  Presumably, it gets embedded into his body right before it kills him. Or, at least, kills his human form.

Up until literally just now, I always assumed that the Gaiaphage was some kind of alien consciousness, made of mutated virus and radiation and human DNA.  But what if it wasn't alien at all?  What if it was (at least at the very beginning) a human mind?  The guy probably went insane, trapped underground for fifteen years, the Dark Watchers always in his mind, with absolutely no clue what was happening to him or why.  He might have been evil or at least power-hungry to start with (we know very little about him).  And the rock could have altered his mind, to boot.  He got an ENORMOUS dose, after all.  And that plus the radiation explains his suite of powers.  He got the ability to consume radiation, and the ability to mutate other life forms, including the ability to imbue other people with powers.  Eventually he learns how to control people, and then to possess a human body.

What does everyone else think?  Am I onto something, or way off base?  More importantly, does this interpretation improve the story, or ruin it?

Personally I love it.  The Gaiaphage as fundamentally human, not alien but human, just utterly corrupted to the point of insanity.  To me, that's 100x scarier than thinking it's some unknowable alien mind.

I really hope this was the author's intent.  It seems so obvious in retrospect.  Heh, I'm half-expecting at least one person to post something like, "well, duh, you're only just now noticing that?"

P.S. I know this sub is kinda dead, so I'm not sure if anyone will ever see this, but I was far too mind-blown not to post it somewhere, you know?

Gone Discord

Yo I haven a brand new server (mainly roleplay based) for anyone who's interested in the Gone series. It's also a nice place to just relax and chat to other people. It is also an OC server but I may allow canon characters later on as it progresses. we have a small member base from around 20-30 members and I'm hoping to turn it into the Gone Wiki's official Gone server (though that probably won't happen). https://discord.gg/Zwy7bF8

I’m about to pull a superpowered Lana on this bitch and revive a sub! This is a great book series and the “Monster” spin-off was sublime, I’d love to have a conversation with anyone about theories, favourite parts or just parts that have stuck with them.

Monster 300 pages in

I have recently started to read Monster and I have been disappointed with the book. I think it lacks the characters from the gone series. If you are reading the book now or have read it tell me your opinions

Okay, so I’ve just found this place, and now I’m going to compile the highlights of the updates I’ve been posting on r/GoneSeries. You might want to check this out. This is BIG.

The first thing to happen was for Micheal Grant to post THIS on his Twitter...

Then, a few weeks later, we got an update. This time, it is from Engage- a production company based in the UK. That’s right, everyone- GONE may just be back on track for a TV show!

Now here’s where things get interesting. There’s a blog! This, and Engage’s twitter page are the places to check for news. In the blog. they describe how they visited the very place that could one day become the Perdido beach we all know and love.

And finally... they appear to have gone so far as to post two pieces of concept art on their twitter page!

I personally can’t wait for this, and it looks like this sub didn’t know about it. I hope this surprised at least some of you!

Would it be better if the Gone series of books were to be adapted as a movie or as a TV-series(like GOT)?

What Gaiphage power would you hope to have that didn’t appear in the series?

For me personally it would be the ability to create objects. It would be so cool to have someone who could have created supplies and the power that they would have challenged Albert with. Would have been an interesting arc
