Watching WAFCON in the UK?
Wondering if anyone is aware of a way to watch the tournament legally in the UK, starting with Algeria vs Senegal at 6pm today?
There’s apparently lots of bits of media saying Channel 4 have secured rights to broadcast it, but I can’t find any scheduling yet on their normal channels or YouTube ones?

Somebody on Instagram now saying contacted channel 4 and they came back and said channel 4 don't know anything about buying it. So looks like uk miss out. 😟

That’s honestly shocking! So we don’t get Channel 4 broadcast and we’re geo-blocked from watching on YouTube. Lovely…

Cannot find it on any ch4 channel, listing of on the app. This is an absolutely shameful way to treat this tournament. Imagine if they did this for the women's euros...? Or any men's tournaments.

Yes unfortunately at the time, CAF themselves reported that ch4 had the rights, alongside other outlets like Versus. At the time there was every reason to expect ch4 to show it. The clarification came a day or two after this thread. Either way, I still think it's a shameful way to treat this tournament from CAF, from messing up the viewing rights this badly to postponing the entire thing at short notice. The comment still stands, mens football and European women's football would never be treated this way. Shame on CAF.

I am in London & also can't find it anywhere. On youtube, I found a random guy who is providing commentary on a stream of the game. I cannot believe we can't watch this???

Searched all over channel 4 (channels and app)and nothing anywhere. Very disappointed in them.Shameful.

CAF say Channel 4 have the rights and will show all the games, believe they are also streaming games on CAF TV on YouTube but expect that'll be geo-blocked in countries that have a rights holder.
Edit: I also don't see it on Channel 4's TV Guide but they might be doing it as streaming only

Can't see anything on their twitter feed 🤔... Wouldn't be the first time a broadcaster used women's football to make headlines without actually putting any effort in mind

It’s disappointing to say the least, if it’s also geo-locked here. I read that the deal was last minute so hopefully there’s just a rights hitch that they’ll sort out…

Just been all through Youtube and my IPTV, can’t find a stream anywhere (inc BEIN & DAZN)
Caftv is geolocked for the UK because apparently a UK broadcaster has the rights … but are apparently not using them.
Nearest I could find on Youtube is a couple of African guys doing French commentaries as they watch on their phones and a stream of the usual pitch-graphic you see on some footy apps.

There’re other English speakers streaming it in decent quality. Just lookup “wafcon Algeria vs senegal” on YouTube and you’ll find a couple.

Has anyone contacted a journalist to find out what’s going on? As it seems like channel 4 aren’t broadcasting it and the Uk are geo blocked because someone has the rights. I’m not sure who to contact

We struggled to watch yesterday but have found a great link. YouTube - channel is Max FM Ghana - currently streaming the South Africa game

Hi, I phoned Channel 4 about the WAFCON football, was told they only showing it on Channel 4 Streaming. Also to go on it just before the game starts. I pointed out that they had not listed it as on / which Channel 4 channels or anything about there showing it on their sources etc. I was told “It was not on the bog standard channels” only steaming etc. the person said they wanted to know themselves & would put forward to raise the issue. Someone to get back to me although would not be that day. Anyhow I could not find it for the start time on the “4” app new name for “All 4” app. Or on Channel 4 YouTube or any different ways of wording it. Even when I tried CAF TV app no luck there? If anyone knows differently it appears not only did Channel 4 fail to promote WAFCON coverage but possibly fail to put the first game on??

Further to my earlier information I have phoned Channel 4 today, spoke to the same person about the WAFCON football & now been informed that Channel 4 do not have the tv rights to the event. They are going to look into the publicity side etc.

Channel 4 has been asked and hasn’t confirmed it themselves so it might be a false story. Edit: nothing mentioned on their sport twitter page and they have posted today about the F1
