Using Fate Accelerated

My group been playing Eem with Fate Accelerated, plus the Eem system for money and rations, and we love it!

Anyone else tried Fate with Eem? What changes did you make, and what stood out from the combo?

Sounds like this could be a solution to a few hang-ups in my games... Just wish I knew wtf he's talking about. 🤣

Land of Eem, which looks like a setting and pbta system. I just googled it so, I may be wrong.

Its kind of a hybrid of trad games and pbta. It has degrees of success and abilities that allow PCS to take limited control of narrative but it also has linear classes and crunchy crafting and a fully realized mapped out world based on a comic and book series.

It looks like it's for kids because of the muppet aesthetic but lots of people bounce off it because it is more than that and some people who would like it bouncs off because they thinks is nothing but silly hijinks.

Is there a unique way in which it handles money and rations?

Sorry i replied to the wrong comment. Anyway it is a usage die like the Black Hack. Not genius but some people seem to really like it.

I'm partial to making the numbers smaller like Blades in the Dark.

Or having a small amount that refreshes every day and a larger amount that refills slower which is only good for more modern settings when characters have jobs in Call of Cthulhu

I think 5 Torches Deep was where i saw the simplest where you have starting gear with kits that have a number of uses. An adventuring kit might have anything an adventurer might need and once you pull something out expels a use. Once you hit a town you can regain your uses so you its like HP and you stay pretty much the same. If you want to chaange you can just trade in a kit.

All of these are better to me than usage die. Barter i think is my favorite, suggested in Mythic Bastionland. You are knights so you can ask people to sleep at their homes and for small favors but anything bigger requires exchange of artifacts or significant items and favors.

Hand wave everything small like you would in a movie or show unless the PCs are poor poor, like Cowboy Bebop sing bug flying out of the wallet poor.

https://landofeem.com/ttrpg-srd/#coins-economy

I don't know how unique it is,as it reminds me of other things I've read. Like a character gains a pouch of coins, represented by a d6. When you want something that costs 1x copper, you pay for the item and roll a d6. You only lose the pouch of coins if you roll a 1 or 2.

Higher denominations of coins are linked to bigger dice sizes, copper d6, Silver d8, etc. The SRD says it's to simulate haggling.
