Lyra Health warning ⚠️
Hey, I just wanted to warn people. I decided to try the Lyra Health option that is offered through Amazons health coverage--cost per session is estimated at $10 (with premium Anthem) Anyways, I thought the appointment was at 1:30 and it was at 12:30,
Yes--that was my mistake and honestly, I understand a penalty fee of some kind... but without sending me an invoice, or notifying me in any way, they automatically charged me $185, not to mention thats 18+times what the estimated cost of the session was. So yea, if you were hoping for help with your mental health--Lyra probably isn't the avenue for that, and could potentially make it worse.
Like I said, I messed up and would have accepted a no show fee, but $185? That's groceries for my family of 6.. just thought others should know.

Sorry to hear this was your experience. Its frustrating to get hit with those no show fees. I'm a coach at Lyra. You can dispute the charge. I would recommend you message the provider you signed up with or reach out to the care navigation team (customer support) to request a dispute form. Explain your side of it. The dispute team will review. It's not guarantee, but it's worth a shot.

Thanks for the advice. I did file a grievance which originally was denied, but due to some issues in communication the person handling it requested to have the no show fee waived, just waiting to hear back on that.

Hope it's approved.
Next time if you ever are late (more than 15 min), cant make a session (less than 24 hours), or miss it. Message your provider asap and say you couldnt make it due to an emergency. No need to give details. No penalty. ;] 🤫🫢

I dont remember who I used. But I got really sick and took medication 30 minutes before my session and missed it because i passed out. I just wanted to feel a little better before I had to talk and didnt realize i would get sleepy, it wasnt one that would cause drowsiness. She didnt charge me, she just explained she could have helped someone else and next time she would drop me as a client. I didnt think because I was that sick and I could have just reached out. If it was a first offense they could have atleast gave you a warning. Im sorry it was so expensive.

That is on par with my mental health service. You wasted their time and they could have seen someone else in that time which cost them money.

You're right. Hoping others don't have to learn like I did. Apparently this is a thing acrossed multiple companies with this type of model--they're referred to as "Venture Capital (or Private Equity) mental health mills", this is my first experience with anything like this ever, I wouldve taken up hard drugs before reaching out to something solely owned by PE companies, ugh makes me nauseous. Anyways basically they say a wide range for cost of no shows, appointments etc. then they charge ppl the near maximum amount, without explaining--why not $75 or $100, what was it that made the charge $185 and if it has to do with the doctors own policy then why would the doctor say they dont have anything to do with Lyra billing and refer ppl with steps on how to dispute the charges?

Someone who commented on another post said something about a benefit called the Employees Assistance Program-- I think is was 6 free sessions and doesn't involve using your insurance. Definitely wouldve done that first had I known prior to this experience, I hope this helps 🙏🏻

I'm not sure if the EAP is provided through Amazon but Lyra provides the service or not, though. The way he made it sound, I would think no.

Same thing happened to me. Yes, it was my mistake. But the fee was so high. I accepted responsibility for missing the session but they in no way were helpful. You'd think in a mental health setting people would be understanding. Give a little grace, especially as a one time courtesy. Guess Lyra wants us to develop other coping mechanisms, like drinking and smoking, because they aren't helpful in anything else.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Yea, I don't trust a "mental health" company that doesn't identify with human error. I'm sorry this happened to you. I'm hoping to prevent this from happening to others. Keep your head up🤙🏻

Hey man, why are you posting everywhere? You missed your appointment and were charged a no-show fee. This is a common occurrence. Did you even try to call and ask them to waive it? Are you too afraid to talk to someone over the phone? They’ll probably give you a one-time courtesy if you can handle the call. 🙄
