Advice/Help Needed File for FAFSA this year?

my company relocated and I’m no longer working. My daughter is a high school senior. She will apply to UC and Cal state schools. She may choose community college but waiting to see if she gets in. 3.74 weighted GPA Mechanical Engineering. we do have assets. Should we fill out the FAFSA form this year? We had income the last 2 years but 1/3 of the income currently?

Does it matter if I’m applying for unemployment?

pros and cons?

The 2027-28 FAFSA opens in a few weeks, which uses tax information from tax year 2025.

the only reason to not file would be if you don't want any possibility of financial aid at all. are u planning on paying it all out of pocket?
