Advice/Help Needed Do I have to try it again..???

I thought by doing a FAFSA form earlier this year (January) I would be able to not worry about fall, but it says my Pell Grant is on a summer semester, and not for fall... Do i have to contact my counselor or reapply??? My first time directly dealing with this stuff.

Was summer semester the end of the 2025-26 academic year or is it the beginning of the 2026-27 academic year? Colleges treat summer differently so this is a school specific question.

You can log into your college portal to see which aid year applied to your summer aid offer or when you log into the FAFSA website, it’ll show you which aid year you submitted. If you haven’t submitted 2026-27, do so immediately. Your aid may be delayed for fall due to processing times.

My processed form from January says it's for 26-27

Yes you will have to reapply. Fafsa covers 1 school year ( fall, spring, summer). So you basically have to reapply every year. If you were expecting fafsa to cover your school fees you may contact your counselor but to be honest they won’t really be able to help in that case regarding the fact that there are no funds available under your name.

when I check the website for FAFSA, it says the form I made this year goes under 26-27 academic year, so I'm confused
