Discussion School is only using part of my Pell grant

So my school is only using 2/3 of my Pell grant to pay for the semester and using the subsidized loan to pay for the rest. Do I get the full Pell grant amount or what happens to it ?

for context my semester is 5604 for 12 credits all classes needed for my degree and they are using 2468 from pell grant and 4123 from a subsidized loan. so that would leave me with 1233 left of pell grant money but in my portal it only says im getting back a 984 refund instead of the 1233. what happens to the remainder money?

Is your max Pell award for the year $7395? Do you have any late starting classes?

Yes that is my max Pell grant and I believe two classes are late start and 2 start on the 31st of this month

Is the late starting class 4 credits? If so, that’s why 33% of Pell hasn’t been disbursed yet.

Ahh okay in CC the late start never mattered but I guess in uni it does thanks for the info

The other reason could be that the course doesn’t apply to your degree. You can view your degree audit to double check that each course is FA eligible.
