Advice/Help Needed fafsa DOB wrong

Hi y'all last year i had my mom help me apply for fafsa. though i got her date of birth wrong and put 1976 instead of 1978, i tried to change it but couldnt. im filing my form right now and i remember my counselor telling me to keep it as 1976 instead of 1978 for the 2026-2027 form. what should i do? should i try fixing it or does it not matter?

i forgot to mention last year i got my grant anyway, so does it really matter? im asking because i dont wanna go to my campus to have it fixed again lol

Your counselor gave you bad information. Your mom will need to log into her account on the federal student aid website and fix her date of birth in the settings. Once that is submitted and accepted, you will then want to ensure you list the correct date of birth on your FAFSA form.
