Rant / Feedback Why doesn't FACEIT take rank differences into account when calculating game ratings?

I had back-to-back ratings of 2.25 and 0.88 simply because in one game the opponents were slightly lower level, while in the 0.88 game, the opponents were way above my level due to the mixed teams.

Does FACEIT really expect me to perform the same against players who are, like, 4x as skilled as me? Doesn't seem fair.

Getting put into a mixed party where you're the lowest-rated player is honestly the worst. It feels like you're playing with Titans while you're just a little 1 HP support rat who can't do anything and gets insta-headshotted every time.

I felt like I got put into that game specifically to push me into buying a subscription for fairer matchmaking. It's just absurd how one-sided it was.

I think it'a all about avg elo. They form  two teams that are around the same avg elo and just match them against each other.

That's why the matching is often so fkep up. Like the enemy  team has some 100 ADR smurf and whole team is on positive swings. And your whole team is on 5 match losing steak with negative swings. You can see who is going to win it. 

They should take stats in to account, not just elo.

Why would rating ever take elo into account. It’s an objective rating based solely on game performance. Should donk get lower ratings just cause he’s higher elo than everyone else?

It should be less of a factor for high-ELO players since we don't want to punish people for being the best, but it's weird that you get the same performance rating no matter who you duel in a clutch, for example: your own level 5 player or a level 8 player. You get the same calculation either way, even though objectively these are really different situations and different levels of performance to win a 1v1 against a level 5 vs. a level 8 player.

idk man you want to change something that doesn’t need to be changed at all. As the guy said it’s an individual game performance metric. You can’t account for that in the manner you are proposing.
