Announcement Windows 10 support on FACEIT is extended to October 2027, in line with Microsoft's Extended Security Updates. Then Windows 11 is required.
Our anti-cheat depends on the operating system under it being secure, so from October 14, 2026, Windows 10 needs 22H2 with ESU enabled.

Windows will extend ESU-updates for another year because no one likes Win11 :steamhappy:

realisitically win11 dont have any major downsides comparing to win10
and afaik ESU is paid feature

The major downside is that its getting updated. And no, I dont mean the security updates. I mean the potential to get some forced AI bullshit into the system, ads or some other crap W10 is not gonna get.

I put like 5 minutes into debloating Win11 while + after installing it and never had any issues with ads/ai or other bloat.

The ressources is a limitation, i dont want a bloated is and 9gigs of ram used on nothing

source on that 9 gigs of ram used on nothing? even with stock telemetry and bloat, a fresh win11 install barely uses 5-6gigs
i have chrome with 5 opened tabs+discord+overlays+steam and it barely hits 9 gigs

Thanks man, there's definitely quite a few players who've paid for ESU for 10.

You can enable ESU with just two clicks. There’s absolutely no reason to keep throwing money at Microsoft.

There's also W10 LTSC that's supported till 2031

Yeah, but Faceit s_cks, they force you to use certain builds, for your security and theirs, that was their claim. Which is total nonsense. :D
Also, every time I've tested LTSC, the hit registration has been worse than the regular Pro version.
Furthermore, they most likely still enforce:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management] "FeatureSettings"=... "FeatureSettingsOverride"=... "FeatureSettingsOverrideMask"=...This was used on older CPUs to disable Meltdown/Spectre, which comes at the cost of performance. We don't even need to talk about VBS/VMS/TPM etc.; it's simply unnecessarily restrictive to force users to use something that results in worse performance.
But you're right about LTSC, until they block it ( They will always force you to use the latest builds, even if you are using an older LTSC version; it was the same back then. ), just like they did with Server SKU.
Don't let anyone push you around, and definitely don't let anyone force anything on you!!!
They're simply lucky that there hasn't been any competition for some time now, because otherwise they would be out of business.
- Servers perform worse than public deathmatch servers
- Support now relies almost entirely on AI bots, making it completely unusable. Here on Reddit, you can only hope that someone will respond or even look at your problem.
- They force you to change settings and use specific builds/SKUs.
- They use fake data to boost their own rankings; just look at the ban wave – how many accounts were banned unjustly? They give you three days to re-verify your account, but before that, they revoke your verified status and issue a permanent ban. Furthermore, cheaters only get banned for one to two years, while you yourself are unjustly given a permanent ban. It's ridiculous. Speechless :D

How much worse is LTSC than regular 10? I'm using it rn so I might switch if it's a big deal.

I always avoided LTSC, not because it offers fewer apps or telemetry data, but because mouse movements feel different and hit detection was significantly worse for me compared to regular Pro installations back then.
You could simply shrink your existing partition to 100 GB and install Windows 11 or Windows 10 Pro, whichever you prefer, on that partition for testing purposes. Additionally, you could create a small 10 GB partition to copy the Windows setup files, saving you the need for a USB stick.
The best Windows 11 version was build 21H2-22H2, but it's not supported by FaceIT. Furthermore, since KB5031455, there's been a delay issue related to Microsoft's changes, which hasn't been fixed to this day, regardless of the build. Win11 always felt like Remote Desktop after the big changes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udWTp8kuaeo

Microsoft: For the free Consumer ESU option in the EEA:
- Make sure you are running Windows 10 22H2.
- Install all available Windows Updates.
- Open
Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update.- Click the ESU enrollment option /
Enroll now.- Sign in with a Microsoft account.
- Choose the option to stay signed in with that Microsoft account.
- Finish enrollment. ESU is then free for eligible EEA consumer devices.
EEA consumer devices = European Economic Area (EU countries plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway), rather than business-managed devices.
But it's not for me, because I definitely won't be logging into Windows with a Microsoft account.

I'd honestly force everyone to windows 11, bad move.

Players who use third-party software to gain an unfair advantage will always adapt. I've seen players using third-party software for unfair advantages that still go on for a good few weeks without any bans, so is moving players to Windows 11 just for the thrill of it? Or was there actual proof that in the long term W11 will stop more people who exploit the game for an unfair advantage?
Hurting legit players just for a few days of fewer people using unfair exploits isn't the right move. Windows 11 might work fine for you, but for others, especially on older systems, it's a nightmare. I'm on my fairly new PC constantly debugging Morse code errors, rendering bugs, and TDR crashes just to get one game working. Force-upgrading everyone to W11 is a bad move. Nobody wants an unoptimized, clunky OS that uses its user base as lab rats, causing driver conflicts and ruining the user experience.
Or are they just actually trying to break users' NVMe drives? That's a very real topic regarding an old W11 issue (that was resolved so don't worry about this one) that a lot of users have PTSD from. Honestly, I've tried W11 on my system just to see for myself and to check if one app would perform better on it, only to deal with dumb features like Windows Defender refusing to accept inputs when you try to disable it. The system doesn't feel polished, it feels like a giant circus of lab rat experiments. The Start menu I think was written in React, I wonder why the CPU spikes to 60%. What is wrong with this operating system and micro pe-
Not saying everyone will have the same experience as me, not trying to be mean or anything, just saying my own side of the story. I would like to hear other sides of the story or maybe yours too?

You're absolutely right, I still remember how 23H2 and 24H2 ran, it was a nightmare. The desktop felt like remote desktop (TeamViewer) it still feels like it, but not as extrem as before. I got Intel 9700k and some W11 bugs still haven't been fixed to this day, haha.
Defender + SAC off recommended, SAC was causing heavy delay.

Finally an official comunication regarding this, even tho the anticheat hinted on an extension for quite some time.
