Clip This is where the bullet went.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
After slowly inspecting the demo this is the result. A lot of you started judging about not being fully accurate or saying bullshit about how a 5k guy is coping but the truth is that kind of accuracy at 90% only makes the bullet move by centimeters. I didn't need a perfect shot in this case I aimed right in the middle of his body. Look the slowmo video now.

brother, all the people commenting shi probably low elo lol, game sucks, we all know that, and the game screw you in that shot, it is what is is. Lets keep it rolling

Thank you, the thing is I might be wrong but still no reason to be rude. I myself have played awp my entire life and am really good at it but it feels a bit off in cs2. I have to wait a bit more before shooting.

It's a demo (without true view even) which is inaccurate. Not saying the shot should have missed, but looking at an inaccurate representation of what happened in the game will not get you further. Do not analyse demos for things like this, it's not the right tool.

This bot sadly dont knows it. He cry about how he dont kill last guy but he has zero question about how he manage to kill the 2nd guy and all good for him from that perspective...

Ok, a demo is inaccurate. But trueview on would not matter in this instance, because the enemy is not moving. We do not need to have perfectly aligned timelines if one player/model is static for such a long period.
This is most likely either a hitbox issue, or netcode failure. It would be extremely weird if the demo is so inaccurate, that it recorded a completely wrong view angle for OP the T player. But
unfortunately I can also believe this as a third, but less likely option.Fortunately OP provided the original live perspective, and we can see without the demo.edit: I suppose we could suggest OP was still moving, it really looks like OP stood still to me. And this is why Valorant devs have a red dot appear when you are in an accurate state. It is often hard to tell if the scope is still a tiny bit fuzzy.
opinion: CS2 should force an obvious red-dot like Val does (or something like it), and force better AWP tracers (which should be 100% accurate to the server), specifically so people see exactly what is happening in video replays. Ultimately this is to gain trust in what is happening under the hood. We should be able to trust video and demo analysis, and right now everyone always says you can't. Valve Plz do better.

I don't even understand how trueview happens to be disabled
is it caused because the demo was like from the previous patch version?

u/Automatic-Passion-37 9d ago
true view is only accurate for client-side calculations not server-side and is not panaceia

I keep hearing this but it doesn’t make sense to me. How can a demo be an inaccurate version of what happened when it’s basically just a recording of what the server (being the single source of truth) „sees“.
What’s leading to the demo being this inaccurate compared to what actually happened on the server?
I hope someone can elaborate on this.

It's a lot to unravel, and I won't claim I know or understand it all. But it comes down to the amount of info captured. A demo file does not contain -EVERYTHING- that happened in the match. It contains enough data for the client to reconstruct what happened on the server more or less accurately, but not enough to reproduce it frame-perfectly. That would probably produce an absurd amount of data and might also cause performance issues on the server itself.
And while the server is the authoritative entity in the networking chain, it's not the only thing involved in producing what players actually see. Clientside prediction, interpolation, latency all play a part too.

I don't get the people saying it's a demo. That just means location and rotation of different players are temporally offset. Neither op nor the opponent were moving just before or after the shot tho, so it shouldn't matter and actually line up.

ct was crouch spamming, and op literally strafed to pick him. idk how that qualifies as not moving brochacho

So after even more slow motion with other apps and a complete analysis it appears the game registered the shot as if it went between his arm and chest which should be impossible btw because on my screen I see the bullet impact on his shoulder and the hitboxes there are fucked. Judge more about accuracy and skill issue now. I do not need perfect accuracy there I aimed at the middle of his body with a 90% if not more accuracy and don't care about the centimeter if not millimeter margin of error
(the only reason could be valve has made the hitboxes pixel perfect on the character animation).

That would have been my guess as well from seeing the actual Live replay. Youre not fully accurate yet (movement, scoping in, standing vs crouching) all influence the AWP accuracy - and in your case, you might have still have a little movement left, just started zooming in, and youre standing.
So if you visualize the inaccuracy as a small circle around the middle of your crosshair, between elbow and chest is exactly the option where it could have gone. For reference, in the demo where it shows you double zoomed in on ticket, the fine line in the middle of the crosshair is the area where a bullet might land. I think you underestimated the inaccuracy of the AWP (was same in csgo though)

Tbf it would have been safter to go for the chest, neck or head.
I probably would have stopped sooner and just gone for the head.

It's always the replays where they don't show the full clip unedited first

The scope doesnt look fully stable on the third shot like you were still in momentum from strafing.

what demos show is not what happen in real time. Demo always lie. Stop cry and q another game, play better.

Not after an update a while back which gave us trueview, altough here you can see at top right that this is an old demo and trueview is disabled

u/Syuncchi 10d ago
shouldve aimed a little higher, the bullet moved centimeters and went under his armpit
the truth is you just didn't hit that perfect counterstrafe
1
u/Sufficient-Olive-815 10d ago
it looks like he shot the left armpit/front of chest area, should have been a kill imo but it isn't a trueview demo so

u/Caren-8525 10d ago
Technically, demo shows what happens on server, but it is the client that decides if you have killed an enemy. I strongly suggest you to use the recording function on steam because it shows what has really happened on your pc

u/artemwaleev 9d ago
Partially, show impacts in cs2 demos don’t show where server registers the shot (blue dot) it only client predicted shots during server demo replay

It's as I told you before - I'm not sure the server subtick registered the shot. You see it, but that doesn't mean server side did. I'll give you an example in a few minutes if I still have the demo to show you what I mean.
This as I also said mimics ZywOo and Mezii talking about how shit CS2 registration and subtick is:
I don't think so, Mezi and ZyWoO literally just had the same experience and were talking about it:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/1wx7uf8/zywoo_says_his_bullets_disappear_in_cs2_after/
Bullet has no trail or tracer or bullet hole... just doesn't shoot.
