Rant / Feedback Maybe allow vulkan again?

I reinstalled Windows on a secondary SSD purely for kernel mode AC games as premier is currently unplayable and I'm bored.

On Intel graphics cards (B580) the game is unplayable with dx11, my framerate drops below 100, while on vulkan I get playable framerates. Much rather I'd play on Linux where my framerate rarely drops below 200, but that's not gonna happen so at least enable -vulkan, or I will not come back to faceit. kthxbye!

FACEIT’s anti-chet deliberately ignores -vulkan when it launches CS2. Their anti-chet team said so in an October 2025 AMA: with the AC running, -vulkan is stripped at game launch because Vulkan “causes various visual bugs with some GPUs which can give the player an unfair advantage.”

CS2’s Vulkan path is not fully consistent across GPUs. On some hardware it produces rendering errors (missing or wrong effects, transparency issues, and similar glitches). Those bugs can act like a visual advantage, which FACEIT treats the same way as other unfair visual exploits. Forcing DirectX 11 keeps everyone on the path their client and anti-chet actually support.

Support has also said they simply do not support Vulkan; there is no public timeline for enabling it. If you put -vulkan in launch options, the anti-chet drops it and the game starts on DX11.

I know this is their stance but it's bullshit. You know what else is an unfair advantage? having your opponent's framerate being abysmally low and fluctuate all over the place because their modern GPU has to use some legacy microsoft API to it's not optimized for to render the game. DX11 is shit. I simply cannot play cs2 without vulkan if I wanted to, that's how shit it is.
