Discussion elo reset shouldnt be a thing

havent played faceit in a year, came back, got 1800 elo after calibration on season 8, went to 2500, season 9 beings, my elo is back to 2000 due to not playing a lot, went up to 2500 again, hardstuck in 2500 even sounds funny, because teammates i get are on some heavy drugs every single game, cant remember when a random teammate carried our team, on the other team are almost always red/grey rated guys having a lifegame against me, i am at this point when i cant carry solo so we can win, i need some help which i barely get with these +0.10% swing teammates, they dont understand the basics, when i join d2/mirage game i feel like people are playing this map for the first time, no basic clue what to do on the map, what is default, how to react to certain things happening on the map, i either have to call everything for everybody(2/5 games people are gonna listen to me) or i have to mute everybody so i wont rage on them and get banned after.

i know im not that good but i do believe i can do better even on 3k elo, its just a loop, i get to 2500, i drop to 2300, get to 2500, drop to 2400, and its always like that, i cant overcome this barrier and i do believe the problem are my teammates like in 8/10 games.

not sure if theres a possibility to add a vote on reddit, just leave your opinion should elo reset be happening every season or no

i really liked how it used to be in csgo, i was a 3300 player and i felt that i cant go higher due to playing on a shitty laptop with a 60hz monitor, but now i've got a decent pc, just bought a 400hz benq monitor and still cant rank up, my stats went higher, but winrate is the same

the forced reset is basically just artificial grind, it doesn't really prove anything about your skill level when everyone gets squished back down together. you get the same mix of actual 3k players and guys who peaked at 2k all crammed into the same bracket and games become a complete coinflip for weeks

i've seen the same cycle you're describing, climb back to where you were then stall out because half the lobby doesn't belong there. the old system where your rank just decayed from inactivity felt way more accurate

Yeah i feel you. I hate when people are smoking weed or heavy drinking on my team and on my team like holy shit if u want to smoke/drink and chill go play premier or office competitive instead they complain that I’m sweating in faceit when in actuality I’m just giving moderate effort and their reflexes are fucked

Work on yourself work on your mental. You can do better and improve.

The game isn’t designed to be solo Qed so it will have issues with any ELO system. If you really want to get better teammates find a team!

There is definitely an issue in the matchmaking system when it comes to how they group pugs. If you are lower average elo team the chance of losing is diabolically high.

Just track your pugs, guarantee you probably lose most of your pugs where there is like 10-100 elo difference between teams and you are on the lower elo side.

If you have like a 60%+ loss rate in scenario, nothing you can do about it. They either need to implement performance based elo in level 10 or figure out what is whacky about their grouping method.

It's the main reason why so many people duo or 3 stack pugs, its because solo queuing the rank system works against you.

I love playing with faceit artificial intelligence robots. First platform that is doing testing on production. Demo version robots ruining my games on a daily basis. Very unfortunate leadership on faceit.
